  1. You can wire transfer the money by creating a new a/c in your BoA a/c. Check your BoA for more details.
  2. BoA carges $40/45 per transaction. This service is better if you are sending huge fat money at a single shot. Its easy:
2a. Get Swift Code/ Routing Number of the Bank.
2b. Checking Acoount ( A/c) Number or Saving A/c Number ( this is where the transferred money will go).
NOTE:
- WesternUnion Sucks if you have to send money more than $2000 or $2500. They will ask you whole bunch of question, have to appear for telephonic interview and justify your transaction: For ex: last 3 bank statement, purpose of sending etc

In the past I used - sendmoneytoNepal.com and muncha. They don't charge a whole lot. even sometimes their transfer is free if amount is large.

Western Union - sucks, I don't like it
Moneygram - good if you are sending < 2000. For 1000 and above, they ask for your ID. I think its 9$ service fee for less than 1000 and 18$ for 1000 - 2000 and so on.
money.muncha.com -  they don't charge for 2500 and above
Wire transfer - both BoA and chase charges 40/45$ for one time transaction, no matter how much money is being transferred but the rate(buying rate) remains uncut. So its good if you are sending may be more than 6000 bucks.

Send it via some person (if you're in a city with a ton of Nepalese living near you).

It is easy through moneygram(my experience). When I knew the dollar was getting weak due to the Fed's decesion to buy bonds and print lots of money, I have used moneygram to send money back home. I have sent like $5000 paying about $20-$30( i don't remember to be exact). The only thing they require is our ID. It's not complicated.
Moneygram has an app on Iphone where you can estimate the rate and fees. If you are in houston, some walmarts have moneygram where you can send money using your debit card.
I think it is the best time to send money to Nepal since the US Fed has been printing lots of money devaluing the dollar. US is not alone in doing so. Most of the reserve banks in the world are doing the same thing. they've been printing lots of money to stimulate the economy. But what I care the most is the relationship between Indian currency and the dollar. US dollar is getting weaker day by day in front of Indian ruppees.

The Best way to send money is to make informed decision by comparing all options. We were discussing this on another thread & found that ExchangeRateIQ.com is a nice website that could help compare all money transfer options, exchange rates and transfer fees when sending money to Nepal. You can check all money transfer options and get the best USD NPR rates when sending money to Nepal from USA.
