for this thing called mavni, I know u get a citizenship in 6 months or less, but wont they send u to war? I have masters degree and still struggling to find a job. I have skills with database technology. Please elaborate . I am in my early thirties.

 Mismas dai, if u r good in db, get a job. DOD might send u to war or war-prone areas if needed. Besides, army life feels much like a kukur ko life. Citizenship ta aaucha but sukha chai hunna. Baki up to u. But in the long run, MAVNI is good if u manage to get out sakusal.

They might send u anywhere they want. It might be in Germany or it might be in Afghanistan.Thats the risk you are taking it. If you are not fully ready then don worry about it coz  I have seen lots of Nepali including me who has alreay finished the procesing and just waiting to sign the contract on oct1st.There are 90 slots for nepali language .Your master degree  doesnt help anything in army but you can get promotion to E4.Army offer you various job depending on your Asvab score. Its the exam you have to pass for further processing.

Here  are  the procedure to  join the army.

Step 1- preAsvab exam ( taken by recruiting station need atleast 50 for further processing,Math+ Eng exam) 

Step2- G845 Approval{( Recruiter send the copies of your docx to USCIS to verify your status),you have to be in USA  atleast 2 yrs and shouldn't  have left US for more than 90 days)}

Step3- Asvab Exam( Requires atleast 50. Exam on Math, english, physics, bio, chemistry , mechanical. To pass you  have to get 50 average on Math and English)

Step4- Physical exam( They check everything , make you butt naked , check your balls. I mean EVERYTHING)

Step5- OPI exam( 45 mins Nepali language interview on Phone with a Nepali guy. he asks you more than 10 questions.Pure nepali without mixing english words.score requires to pass is 2+ . You have to Speak like a high school Nepali professor.)

To finish all above procedure it takes around a month and 15 days .
After Passing on evrything you are ready to sign the contract.And on the day you sign the contract they offer you jobs based on your Asvab score.

Believe me Im loving it. Once week have some blast, clear the route, nd play with all those bad a**s. Ohh!! Its cool,you are strong Army strong.
