A new Nepali organization has come forward to fill the void left by the constant inter-organisational bickerings going back and forth for almost a decade within the largest Nepali organization in the US, the ANA (Association of Nepalis in America).
The Nepali organization has been recently registered in New York and it boasts the largest initial membership of over 7000 Nepalis out of over 50,000 that live in New York and New Jersey area. The All Nepali United Society has been hailed as the "much needed Nepali organization" by social leaders from all over the United States.
In a joint press release by community organizations in Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Dallas, St. Louis, San Francisco and Seattle, it was noted that over the decade the mismanagement of the ANA has increased the divide between Nepalis in foreign land instead of decreasing the gap between Nepalis living in the US. "Instead of providing the much needed guidance to new comers and other Nepalis, ANA has been busy in legal technicalities to figure out who holds more power within the committee. ANA had such a huge potential but the ego of the founding members have always held back the potentials," the press release indicated.
The president of All Nepali United Society, Mr. Hardik Dixit has reiterated that the Society will always be geared towards the benefit and development of Nepalis living in the United States. In response to a query raised by journalists regarding whether the new organization will hold any conventions like the ANA conventions, Mr. Dixit revealed that a convention is planned in the coming few months. The A.N.U.S. Convention date will be published shortly by the All Nepali United Society.
