Provide more details, how did you end up at that step? 1. Software version, firmware? 2. Was it jail-broken? 3. Is it factory un-locked or you did it by urself? 4. Were you trying to reset your phone? 5. Is it somebody taking hostage of your device by hacking your icloud account?

Hi Ruben I buy from craiglist Iphone 4s then after few months I updated the IOS and then it asked for icloud username and password. I could not contact the seller so now it's become a brick. Any idea how to make it work?

I believe this is the new security feature update in iOS which is prohibiting you from using this device. Couple of things, -->Did you try putting in DFU mode and reactivating it? -->When you buy a 2nd hand device, always ask them to reset their information from the device. Take it to Apple store and tell them you forgot your Apple/icloud id. 1) Don't mention that you recently purchased this device/iphone... rather say that you have purchased it used and been using it for long time (if they ask)........ and you end up stuck at icloud activation after you upgraded your software. 2)They will fix it and transfer the ownership to you (unless the tech guy at Apple store is totally an asshole). 3) It's better to go where there are less people waiting, mostly during the end of the day.

pepsi, I am doubting your technical understanding regarding Apple products but the answer is always "NO" until you TRY!!... I have been to Apple Store multiple times and got replacement on second hand iPhones... they had never asked me the proof of ownership or such. It doesn't hurt trying.

We r not doubting your technical understanding pepsi. You know well, just wondering if there were any skilled programmers who knew it. Seems like there aren't any. It was in the news that two hackers were able to breach it however the posting was on april fools day lol, so may be not. There were some claims about doluci being able to do it by changing host file, but i tried it and didn't work. So, keep em coming, someone might have a solution.
