Impermanent, alas, are all conditions
Arising and passing away
Having been born they all must cease
The calming of conditions is true happiness.
So many births I have taken in this world,
seeking in vain the builder of this house;
in my search over and over, I took new birth, new suffering.
Oh! house builder, now I have seen you,
you cannot make a new house for me;
all your beams are broken, the ridge pole is shattered;
my mind is freed from all the conditioning of the past,
and has no more craving for the future.
Impermanent and suffering are all compounded things (conditionings)
and all formations have the characteristic of impersonality (egolessness).
When one perceives this with insight one ends suffering - this is the path of purification.
May all yakkhas, gods, and deities, from the whole
after partaking of the merits and of all the thoroughly good fortune
we have acquired being in harmony and delighting in teaching
be not heedless and grant us complete protection
be without negligence,
especially in giving protection
We share with all equally the merit
of this meditation and other wholesome deeds.
May they all accept with joy our sharing,
and may the earth stand witness to it!
May all beings be happy
May all beings be happy
May all beings be happy
