Namaste to Nepali Community,

Here is little history behind this song...

"I wrote the first part of this song around 2003-2004, and completed the second part around 2011. I have always been inspired by the rock music of the 1970s, 1980s...and so on. Hotel California has always been a jam song. When a friend from Darjeeling, India (back in the year 2001-2003) played this song and quoted 'Darjeeling' in the chorus of the song- (he sang something like 'Welcome to Darjeeling' instead of 'Welcome to Hotel California')- an idea came along and I wanted to write about Nepal and Nepali people.

It was always in my mind that I wanted to use instruments like Sarangi, Basuri, and Madal for the Nepali version as they echo Nepali music and culture.

My recent vacation to Nepal (Summer 2014)- I was lucky enough to meet right group of musician and make this happen. We recorded the video within two days. We traveled from Kathmandu to Hetauda and then back to Kathmandu. We stopped at Chitwan, Narayanghat, Malekhu and captured some scenes. We'd planned for two days of shooting, the first day was great, but unluckily the weather was not kind to us the second day. It rained all day and made it tough for us to capture the scenes with dark sky and low light. We still managed to pull out some frames. Kudos to the cameramen/editor for the good job they have done with the video editing.

The rest, as you all can most likely guess is from Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Kathmandu-Basantapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

I hope you all enjoyed reading my experience. I am back in the US, and plan to release my second single 'Gulaf Ko Kada' within a few days. By the end of this year 2014, I plan to release my first EP as well. It will include 4 songs, 2 Nepali and 2 English numbers.

Please make sure you subscribe to my channel and follow me on my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/reasonful

And thanks to the friend who suggested me to share this video on a Nepali blog. I think its a great promotion idea and I am more than glad to share my experience with you all.

Appreciate all the feedback."

Jai Nepal
-Reason G.

Jazz Productions...They are new and upcoming talent and I enjoyed working with them. From what I understood they were trying to set a mark in Nepali Market. You can find a link to their website under my video description on YouTube. Tell them you were referred- you might get a discount. Good luck :-)

EP=Extended Play. These "albums" have less songs than a regular musical album.

I have to say, the video production quality is very impressive. Hope your voice suits the song better this time.
