You can wait for the prayings two weeks later...or you just could not wait to show yourself as a NETA? You could not miss this opportunity, could you? If i were there, i would throw rocks at whoever goes on to the stage and speaks. Less talkie and more workie....Beeches... Send money, send materials, or you can go there yourselves. Stop gathering and lighting candles. It helps no one. Send that candle money back home and someone will buy a donut instead.

I don't understand it either, but I guess it is better than not doing anything. I mean, my family is sleeping outside in this rain, do you really think your candlelight is going to keep them warm? Most people over there won't even see what you are doing since there's no electricity. It just sounds like something you want to do for yourself. As long as you don't feel like you did everything by doing this (trust me there comes that entitlement of doing something by doing this, and that could be a bad thing specially if you don't do anything else), I won't support it nor oppose it.

kathmandu can survive because most people can afford to buy at least food and water. There are plenty of organisations schools offering food and shelter. They have clothes to wear too. Capital can survive for a week at least may be more. Most stuff are accessable. There are houses standing still which can accomodate who have nowhere to go. Much needed are in villages where everything collapsed and they have nothing to eat. I hope those clothes and food are going to villages not in the capital. A humble request. Please dont have any candle light memorial for the Nepal earthquake victims. Instead send the candles and matches to Nepal where they are still needed. Please share this message so that all can see and respond responsibly.

Its very easy to understand...just by gathering and lightning some candles you can just wash the guilt away for not being home and near your family when they actually need you dearly. So its the lazies and the greedies who are getting together and washing off the guilt very cheaply. The others are hoping that they emerge as a leader on the back of this tragedy and establish themselves as a next gede NETA for next time.
