Let's come together to support and pray for Krishna Hamal during his battle with cancer.
Krishna Hamal is Nepali, a truly compassionate individual, and for many of us he is such a wonderful friend. Krishna, Anita, and their sweet daughter Shreya have just started to settle down in Washington DC area. But on April 4th, 2015, Krishna was diagnosed with Stage IV Adrenocortical Carcinoma- an ultra rare cancer that affects only 1-2 persons in a million. Unlike many other cancers, this one is usually detected at very late stage. Anita has consulted with almost all leading doctors all around the world who have some experience with this rare form of cancer- and as per their recommendation, Krishna is currently in hospice care at their residence near Shady Grove, Maryland. Krishna is in good spirits, but the cancer is very aggressive.

Krishna and Anita have touched many of our lives. None of us would be in any position to even imagine the stress that this young family is going through now. But at least we can share our thoughts and prayers for them, and also support them financially. Please share this weblink to all friends and well-wishers.

For those who have not been in touch with Krishna recently: Krishna, after his PhD from Arkansas moved to Georgia as a researcher, before moving to Maryland. Since October 2013, Krishna is a fellow with one of the federal agencies in DC area. Anita is in between jobs for the past few months. Shreya is in first grade.

I remember meeting this family at my friend's place early last year in Maryland, they were very nice couple with a sweet kid. Although it says Arkansas, I recall they moving in from Georgia, so I am confused. I just donated a small amount towards the fundraise, I request every visitor to at least donate a little towards fundraise, I know the earthquake has broken our banks but every money donated towards a good cause doesn't go to waste.

Yes, Krishna briefly lived in Georgia before moving to Maryland. Before that he spent many years in Arkansas while completing PhD at University of Arkansas.
