I am planning to apply for TPS without EAD and will apply for EAD through TPS later then what should I write on I-821 2.a or 2.b ? Looks like I also have submit I-765 application if I select "No" though I want EAD later.
Then on I-765, do I still have to pick anything where it says "I am applying for" (above the name column). Please let me know if you know anything. I am really confused.

Form 821: choose the second option 2b Check in 2b

 and in I 765 just above name which says I am applying for: DONT SELECT ANYTHING, LEAVE IT BLANK.

Hope that helps and please do read to the instruction really carefully.

what do we put for number 15 (current immigration status) in i-765 form ?
Talking about people who are in H1b status currently.
Do we put "H1B" or "Temporary worker" ?

Hi
taremam_bhai. Thanks. I believe when I decide to apply EAD through TPS I need to fill out the form again (i-765) again, selecting the option (permission to accept employment).

I am trying to read each and every instruction carefully because I don't want them to send me EAD with TPS because I will be applying later. Please let me know if you personally think, I should recheck or focus on something more.

Thanks again. Your post was very helpful.

@Karnali
Both will work.
@goodtogo
Yea, you are right, later if you decided to file EAD then you have to fill form i-765.

Don't stress out too much, there is nothing you have to worry.
Like teremam_bhai said just select 2b on TPS form and select nothing on EAD form.

Goodtogo : Is there any specific reason that you want to file TPS but not EAD ?

goodtogo -- That does not make sense ..you are on OPT that's y you not applying EAD through TPS ?

Remember that OPT extension is going away after Feb 2016 and TPS EAD has a good chance to be extended so I would file for it regardless. 500 ko chot will give you chance to make money and pay for the school so I would file for it yar.

Hi fdfower,

Thank you for sharing your logical thoughts. I am not applying now because I am planning to apply in December, 2015. I want to maintain my status but I need time to join school. If I apply now and get it approved within two months then I will not have enough time join school.

I hope it makes sense now?

@goodtogo
"If I apply now and get it approved within two months then I will not have enough time join school."

What is the relation between TPS approved and you join the college?

I want to maintain my status. If TPS EAD gets approved this year then I will only have 2 months to join school and based on school rules, I will have 60 days of grace period. In other words, after I get EAD through TPS and my OPT will get automatically cancelled.

All these information are based on my knowledge/research. Correct me if I am wrong.
I hope it makes sense.

So in that case, you can apply TPS now, and apply TPS EAD when your OPT EAD is about to expire (Given 3 months time for TPS EAD to arrive).

But I need to send I-765 now with i-821. Thus, I am going to select nothing on I-765 form like
taremam_bhai said, where it says "I am applying for".

Hi @goodtogo, I am applying for TPS but not EAD as I want to use my OPT. I am still a little worried about applying for TPS. Is it true that ifI apply for TPS without EAD, I can still maintain my F-1 and apply for school? I am in STEM field and still have extension period so I did not want TPS EAD.
Please help me out.

Hi @Nepsam,

It's probably better to talk to a lawyer, or ask your school adviser if you feel comfortable. But I am not applying for EAD through TPS now because my OPT is valid till sometime next year, that's means my SEVIS will be active.

I am not 100% sure about this, but this is based on my research.

You sound familiar, can I ask you a question- "Which state are you in right now?"
