I cant say about Seattle hawking bro, But I lived in Boston for about a year. Having lived in relatively smaller states previously, I found Boston too crowded. Driving is rough. Its a beautiful city nevertheless. If you are somebody with a kid, I would suggest somewhere else for your kid to grow. Not to mention, its expensive. And if you want a nice place to live (low crime rates and good schools), you are paying even more. You are looking about 1000 for a mediocre single bedroom. I hope somebody will tell you about seattle.

As FuelTank pointed out driving in Boston is not easy. But you'll hardly ever have to drive in Boston. The public transit system in Greater Boston is pretty efficient and comprehensive. Yes, the city is crowded but that goes on to prove how great the city is and how everyone wants to be here :) The city is picturesque and full of energy and excitement. It has a huge Nepali community and plenty of Nepali/Indian restaurants and stores. The worst thing about Boston is long, frigid, windy and relentlessly SNOWY winters. The only thing I know about Seattle is that it rains too much there.

@Fuel Tank and MinNpl: How is parks/outdoors recreation in Boston?. And Looks like it snows heavy for 4 months, but thats not bad if it stays enjoyable rest of the year. @intelligentGuy: Thank you bro. I like going to Nepali programs once in a while so that would be a plus. Anyone who can tell me about living in Seattle plz. My main concern are (Weather/outdoors/nepali stores/ expense/driving)

Parks and Outdoors are Beautiful. Bro where are you living now? if you are from warmer states from south-ish, you will find Boston VERY cold. Specially around this time of the year. Doesnt matter how beautiful the parks are when you cant walk outside :) I used to work at Cambridge. Harvard square is beautiful. Bro le kotha liyo bhane tesaiko woripari liya,

I was in Seattle for 3 days last year to attend a seminar; I liked the city a lot..very laid back unlike NY or Boston, good food scene, parks, recreation the only disadvantage is that it rains a lot there!

Pros: tons of outdoor activities: hiking (a lot), camping, boating, fishing, hunting, cycling, ski, mild weather (we get happy to see snow), summer is awesome (no a/c needed and no humidity), close proximity to Canada (Vancouver), Oregon and Idaho (coastal highway 101 is nice), home of Seahawks, Mariners and Sounders. Overall, nice place to raise family. Cons: rains a lot from October to Feb-March; until Jan 1st it's fine, gets boring after that until spring. Nowadays big companies are moving to downtown Seattle and traffic sucks during office hours.

I have lived in greater Boston area for 1and half year(2009-2010). Besides chilling long winters 3-4 months at least, no place can beat Boston and surrounding areas if you have decent job. Boston area also has good Nepalese diaspora, and not that far from New York. Never been to Seattle, but seems like rainy place with not many sunny days. Good for outdoors though.
