Went to SSN office to apply for SSN, but they told me that my status has not been updated for working as TPS? Anybody experienced such problem

It will take 2 weeks before it gets updated in their system. So wait till that period.

They will check for your legal status and mail you your Social Security Card within the next 4 weeks. So, it might take upto 30- 40 days. But you will be able to work during this period of wait.

@iamfromnepal: did you go after both TPS and EAD were approved? I got my EAD but TPS case is still stuck...debating whether I should go ahead and apply for SSN or wait until TPS is approved. Any suggestions?
