Has anyone recently taken Conptia Security + certification? How hard is it to pass? Any resources to review for preparation? People are saying that the dump questions are not helpful at all. Non of the questions comes from the dump collections you normally find in examcollection.com
Any advice?

This cert is the entry level cert to get into security industry and is prolly the easiest of all.

Know the basics of , Firewall , Proxy , router , switches , load balancers , threats , vulnerabilities and you should be able to pass it fairly easily.

If you are going to dump it you are basically cheating and that will not help you at work because you will work directly on the things you learn there.

However if you do dump it , every questions you go through try to understand with research on how it works and it may help you.

But yes the exam is the easiest cert you will ever take in security industry so I would study than rather dumping it.

fdpower is right. Sec+ is an entry level certification to find information security job. If you struggle the questions and concept and have to go through dump to pass this test, I recommend you to spend more time doing research and study. Infosec area is vast. In other IT sector, you can concentrate in one area and be an expert. To excel in infosec, you need to have a decent knowledge of everything (including physical security) within the enterprise architecture. Yes, I have security+ certification for last five years.
