अहाँ ऊ उखान सुंली छी? गांड भार नै पादे भारी (Her Fart is heavier than her booty). No relation to your topic above. Just reminded me of one of those Maithili ukhans that we used when we were kids.
Anyways, I wanted to search for a particular Maithili Song that our neighbor used to play in a large cone shaped loudspeakers stalled over a bamboo pole during Chath and Holy. For the unperturbed: Chath and Holi are the two most (and probably only) important festivals in Mithila majority areas. Not confusing with Bhojpuri speaking areas. A Bhojpuri speaking person (Birgunj) and a Maithili speaking person (Biratnagar) would generally only communicate with a third language like Nepali or Hindi.
The song's lyrics had these lines:
रात को निंदिया में सपना देखैछे
कानो में आ के I Love You कहैछे
But Youtube is rife with Mallu Aunti type videos when I search for any Maithili songs. Like Liberia, the Mithila Politicians in Bihar and terai scrounged on common people's vote while doing nothing that prepares the Mithila culture for 21st century. Which is neither a sad story or a unique story. It's just that I don't have 500 years to wait for a society that will eventually consider 'dowry' a relic word from bygone past.
My other point was, you and I, we're not so different. Trolling bored Sajhaites with commentaries that no one cares nor understands. Not that we did not make ourselves clear! It was clear in our head. It's not my fault that the reader did not read my mind.
