My birth certificate was made very recently. I am thinking about also making an affidavit of birth from my father and mother. I also need to notarize the document in Nepal. Where/who should I go to get these notarized? This is for my I485 application. I am wondering if a scanned copy of this notarized document is enough or do I need the original notarized documents?

Can you please share your experience?

You can go to any government office in nepal and get in notarized by an officer(section officer) ...usually your parents or someone working in govt office will know someone. If not you can go or send someone to the CDO office show your BC and someone should do it for you(although not sure).

And yes you can used the scanned copy. USCIS does not take any original docs.
