I have an option of buying less expensive ticket with 2.5 Hrs stopover flight ( bigbird # is same so I think I don't have to get out from the plane) of Emirates @ Italy before landing at Dubai .Anybody has experience traveling with this kind of Ticket, espcially traveling with kids.I am little concerned will there be any likely extension of stopover duration on these kind of flights?ur share is appreciated.

My speculation.
1) You are right.
2) My experience - you are right 1/3 times (Gulf air I think). You are wrong 2/3 times. I had to go out take a circle (get out of the plane on arrival lounge and back to departure without security check). Narita and Abu Dubai.

I think they would want to expose you to duty free :-).
