Hi, I am working under OPT STEM which expires in May, 2018. I desperately need to find a college which will give me a CPT. I did not get the stupid H1b 2 times. No TPS. Can you please advise. I live in Austin, Texas. Thank you.

I am not aware of any college in Texas, but there are few that can help. Some of um you have to go weekly, but i know Harrisburg University you can go once a month. There are few others like Sullivan University, KSI in skokie IL. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear about your H1B. But did you request your employer to file your Green Card? After multiple failed H1B attempts, a few of my friends chose the direct GC route without going through H1B. All of them got their GC approved.

my friend i dont think there is any college like that in Texas area. But u can google search for CPT from day 1 colleges. Some of my friends went to Harrisburg which is pretty popular, Startford, and one college in California, forgot the name. They all give CPT from day 1 if you have all the employment docs etc. Its easy to maintain CPT on these colleges. Try for direct GC instead of H1b like others suggested since for us it will take few years to get GC EAD approved as i485 is current, if lucky GC. good luck

I got this information from Sullivan University, Kentucky website: ******************************************************** Upon receiving acceptance to the university, you may be able to apply for CPT. You will be required to complete an application and submit supporting documentation. To obtain more information about the process of applying for CPT, please contact your admissions officer if you are new student. **Effective for all CPT Recipients as of 06/24/2013: You will be required to enroll in a course credit bearing externship each quarter for four quarters. These externship courses will equal 4 credit hours total (filing one elective area). Additionally, you will be required to attend three in person course meeting dates that are held on Friday of Week 1, Week 5, and Week 8. Class schedules vary per campus. Each class is 3 hour long. (this is mandatory if you want to continue to receive CPT authorization). You must have a job when applying for CPT. You will not be allowed to get a job later in the quarter and still receive CPT. ************************************************************************************************ every Friday of Week 1, Week 5, and Week 8, I have to attend the class in the University?? I have same problem, I am here in US from last 9 years. I am working under my Master's OPT which will expire on July 16,2018. I did not get h1b, and i did not file tps. Can I file TPS (late initial registration) ??? Any suggestions??

Get in Harrisburg Univ. like everyone is suggested. Class is once in a month and in Saturday. You can make it here from anywhere in the US.
