My Driver License will expire on June 24 and in the meantime can we take the FEDERAL REGISTER https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/05/22/2018-10868/termination-of-the-designation-of-nepal-for-temporary-protected-status to DPS to extend Driver License for 6 months? Will they issue one? If anyone in the same situation please share. Thanks

@ Highway. No, they won't take FEDERAL REGISTER for renewing a driving license as it was only meant for EAD.

You can take Federal Register Notice along with 797-c and they will extend your license for 6 months. At least thats what they do here in IL. Towards the end of the document you will see note to DMV as well

I think you do need photos, as per I765 instructions.

Why are you guys insisting on paying for BIOMETRICS?? See what they say:

$410. You must also pay an $85 biometric services fee, for a total of $495, if you are filing with one of the following eligibility categories:

  • (c)(33) Requesting consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA);
  • (c)(35) A beneficiary of an approved employment-based immigrant petition and you are facing compelling circumstances; or
  • (c)(36) A spouse or unmarried dependent child of a beneficiary of an employment-based immigrant petition who is facing compelling circumstances.

There is no biometric services fee for any other eligibility category.

Confirmation of BIometric fees for TPS Re-Registration and more

1. If you have TPS and you are filing for re-registration, you must submit the completed Form I-821, but you are not required to pay the $50 application fee for Form I-821. However:

A. If you are 14 years of age or older, you must still pay the $85 biometric services fee; and
B. If you are seeking employment authorization, you must still submit Form I-765.

2. Regardless of your age, if you are filing Form I-765 to request an EAD with your re-registration, you must pay the $410 filing fee for Form I-765.

A. If you are 14 years or older and requesting an EAD, your fees will be the $85 biometric services fee and the $410 EAD filing fee – a total of $495.

B. If you are under 14 years of age and requesting an EAD, your only fee will be the $410 EAD filing fee.

NOTE: When filing an initial or re-registration TPS application, if you are not seeking employment authorization, you do not need to file Form I-765 and you do not need to pay the $410 fee.

3. The Form I-821 filing fee and biometric services fee are not refundable, regardless of any action USCIS takes on this
application. DO NOT MAIL CASH. You must submit all fees in the exact amounts.
Use the following guidelines when you prepare your checks or money orders for the Form I-821 filing fee andbiometric services fee:

1. The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must be payable in U.S. currency; and
2. Make the checks or money orders payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

NOTE: Spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials “USDHS” or “DHS.”
