HR392 bill currently in Phase "Introduced"
This bill is the most unfair bill introduced and creating buzzes, so organizations like AHA & NIAC are already opposing it as it will give more power to India and china resulting in small nations like Nepal, EU countries being out crowded by these two big nations. India will monopolize this system like H1b and other nations will have to wait 5-7 years to get green card or will never get one if passed. Small countries are already coming together & protesting it, let's do our part too to benefit Nepalese talent in global level.
As @Kind_nepali_soul has mentioned about this bill in detail in his post "Dangerous Bill.....", Please, share with as many people as you can, call congress and express your concern or even email them. There is already a petition going on created by small nations. Please sign it with your concerns in the comment section and let everyone around you know so petition goals can be reached.
Immigration reform is definitely needed to be fair to everyone but equality does not mean justice. This bill tries to be equal but is a massive injustice to rest of the world and will favor only Indians. Indians are pushing this law for their selfishness.

@halfkattu: now my status has changed!! Even if it wasn't changed , I'd still support this bill. I have lots of friends soen in IT and some even doctors waiting for green card for years. I support this bill for them and will continue to do so. These people are lot smarter and have class than many nepalis I know. My Indian friends never judged me based in my nationality. And look at us: on single bill that might be advantageous to Indians and we all are running around like a chicken with head cut off !!

If the bill (HR392/S281 "Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants" passes, till the backlog in the employment based visas are cleared, no one else can get a green card. There is an absolute silence about this bill now. A couple of communities are actively opposing this bill and some lobbyist are working to remove it from DHS appropriation bill.

nohr392, i agree this bill will create at least 5 or more years of backlog for other countries except india and china. I already called the senators stating potential harm this would create. This is a serious issue and eveybody should work to stop it. I think NRN communities could raise their voice and let senators know about it. Is there a way yo connect to them?

I found NRN-US email address secretary@nrn.org.us Let's each of us write an email to them addressing our concern and how they can help us to be our voice by writing letter to representative on behalf of nepalese skilled immigrants. Thank you everyone for your effort. @Khaikhok - You have the right to your opinion but this bill is designed to favor only India. Have you even read the bill though? It's not only about nepalese but 190+ nations will be impacted and how is that fair?. Still If you think its ok to cater one nation's self-inflicted mess (by h1b fraud/overflooding system) but everyone should be hurt then I have nothing to say. This thread is not meant for you. My dear friends from Nepal and all over this blue globe.
I am a representative from the Iranian students association in USA. I have come to you to discuss this HR 392 bill and clarify any questions you may have of me. So far we have official support from several graduate student unions, Korean-american and Philippines-American communities.
Our stance is that while we feel for our fellow Indian green-card seekers, this is a rushed solution and the price to pay is just not fair for the rest of countries involved including the Nepali community. The HR392 bill is a rushed bill sponsored by tech companies and Indian entities that has not been through due-process in the house and senate immigration committees. It is very damaging to all foreign communities living in the US because of defective US laws that created this huge Indian green-card seeker backlog to begin with.
Hence, we believe that this is a delicate matter that requires extensive discussions.
together with the Korean and Philippines communities, we have been contacting our US house and senate representatives to convey this point. however it is not enough compared to the huge lobbying effort behind HR392 bill. I am here to ask for your hand in opposing this bill in the future. Please feel free to contact me or reply to this question as you wish.
