Has any of you recently travelled to Nepal through TIA? Do they really check your COVID test result if you are unvaccinated or do they really ask for your vaccine passport if you are vaccinated?

Since the guidelines are constantly changing through-out the world, I think it would be helpful to know from actual travelers what they are actually facing at TIA or even at US airports when they return back.

Summer is almost here and many of us thinking to visit Nepal. Your information will help us very much.

Thank you!

Recently traveled. yes, they check the vaccination card starting from the US airport up to Nepal. Pretty sure they will ask for a -ve PCR result if not vaccinated.

How do they verify vaccination card or the test result? Do they look up in some data base or do they just see and give it back to you? I am hearing people are just printing fake covid test report and traveling.

I don’t know why you care how they verify. Just follow the guidelines, take your vaccine card with you. Why do you need to care if people print fake cards? It’s their risk and if caught they are the ones to pay the price. Are you genuinely asking or just questioning how it is done?

@chicago...It's better to know full knowledge. What if a Nepali thug at TIA says "this covid report ain't real? We all need to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Just FYI, for whoever is traveling to Nepal

You don't require a -ve PCR Test if you have Vax Card. As long as you have Vax Card you are good to land in Nepal in terms of Covid Restriction.

Recently also found out Insurance companies stop covering PCR tests if its for Travel purpose.
If you came to close contact and have symptoms they will cover it but if it's for travel purposes then they will bill you later. I just found out this week. If anyone has any other info or recent experience please pass along so that we all can learn from each other.

They are not checking anything if you cross by land border.
