Hello Sajha friends,

Has anyone applied for Nepal visa recently? Pre-arrival vs On-arrival, which one is more convenient? I looked at the Immigration website and there isn't much helpful information specifically regarding the process to apply for Pre-arrival visa which can be applied online.
I am not sure if everything can be done online i.e. application process, payment etc.

I would appreciate if someone could shed some lights on Pre-arrival visa process.

Thanks,
Makar Rashi

Just do On Arrival. You have options to choose 15, 30, 60, & 90 days. Once you land at TIA, go to the KIOSK and apply. Make sure you have a smart phone to take picture of the confirmation page as KIOSK doesn't print the receipt as they mentioned on the immigration website! This is what you show at the counter to pay the amount. You can also fill the application online before departure if you don't want to wait on line at the KIOSK. If you do, you will need to print the confirmation page with the barcode and you can directly go to the payment counter once you land at TIA. Choice is yours.

Thanks!

Thank you Chicagoan and ujI.

ujI - It seems like On-Arrival is the convenient one based on your feedback. So, with that said, will I also need photos (passport size etc.) for the application? I was trying to do Pre-arrival application online and they required me to upload my photo as part of the application.

No photo was needed. It doesn't make sense to ask for a photo because how you gonna upload a photo at the KIOSK? Makes no sense to me.

They don't need a photo anymore. They needed a photo before. I don't know if it may have to do with MRP.

I traveled last year, and I received on arrival visa. My friend told me though that it is cheaper to get a visa from Nepal embassy. I didn't bother to look into that though.

Thank you ujI and harkhe7. As I said, when I was trying to fill out the application form online for pre-arrival visa the other day, the website asked me to upload photo, however for on-arrival it sounds like there is no photo requirement.
