What happened to Biswo and Nepe? Does anyone know about their whereabouts?

Probably they have better things to do. Only those who have nothing useful to do post messages on a bulletin board.

They are working underground (Bhumigat) on our pro-republic movement.

GENERAL REMARKS: I have no patience for people who visit Sajha for some time and mentally declare themselves to be "above" or "too good for" Sajha.

Such an attitude smacks of unwarranted arrogance.

Visiting and posting stuff on Sajha could well be an exciting experience for most, if not all. It's quite possible to lead a busy, productive life (in terms of work and hobbies) and STILL be able to share news, views and ideas with fellow-Nepalis from around the world from time to time.

Doing that is nothing short of some sort of cyber-public service, if you will, and such services are urgently needed -- of better quality and more.

As for personal attacks, they come and go; sometimes they are nasty, often, I
have found out that what doesn't kill you can make you a lot more strong.

Still, the trick is to "act always as if the future of [Nepal] depended on what you
posted on Sajha, while laughing at yourself for thinking that whatever you post
makes any difference."

It is this serious playfulness that makes it possible to be both engaged and carefree
at the same time -- on Sajha and, if I may add, in one's real life.

Well, at least, that's been my experience.

And so, do visit Sajha. Post stuff. Give it your 100 per cent as if the world depended
on it; but smile and laugh more and don't take your postings and yourself too
seriously.

Tomorrow is always a brand new day.

Ashu, I agree with you. However, I never implied I was too good for Sajha, and I know, you didn't either.

My problem is that I visit Sajha a little too often, and this, like you have mentioned, has had a huge impact on the time I spend on offline activities. What could be a better example of this than the fact that I am sitting here & following up on my post that I posted a few hours back!

But fret not.

As long as you are getting your major (professional) work done to your satisfaction, don't be too hard on yourself, though.

I am all for working very hard and then, after that's completed, treating yourself to a goof-off to let off the steam.

That means visiting Sajha (or going to the movies, or hanging out with friends . . . whatever!) to get the batteries recharged . . . Goofing off relaxes the mind, it
gets you in a playful mood; and some of the best and most creative ideas come to your
head, seemingly out of nowhere too.

Hope this helps.

Treat Sajha like a forbidden fruit (something you can have AFTER your work is done): that way, the pleasure is doubled, and the guilt is halved. :-)

First of all, thank you for wondering about me and our good old friend Biswo. I hope Biswo ji will log in soon and satisfy our curiosity about him.

As for me, although I have not been able to be as regular as I have been in the past, I have no intention to retire from Sajha- as a poster and a reader. I am a man with a mission (thank you, Bond007 ji) and there is too much to be missed if I quit Sajha. And on top of that there is an emotional attachment- through the memory of some wonderful people I met in the past, people I am in touch with, both on line and off line, now and perhaps by the emotional investment I have made since I joined Sajha some three years ago.

Emodus ji brings up a sad part of our lives in Sajha. I am perfectly comfortable with heated arguments on ideas (In fact, that's what attracted me to Sajha when I joined). However, I think it is true that incidents of personal bashing at times poisoned the atmosphere of Sajha. But I am also aware that this is unavoidable. Preaching does not help. We just have to accept it as a part of our cyber life.

Personal bashing (cf. bashing of ideas) predominates when you run out of ideas. If you look at PB wars in this light, you might get new insights. Perhaps we can call it learning from the negatives.

Thanks for liking this hurried attempt of mine. Unlike some of my readers might think, poetry does not come naturally to me. For me, it takes months to finish one piece. And this one was one day's labor.

Though yet rough in make up, I guess I was trying to convey man's eternal fascination to rebellion and accommodation to human limits.

Pleasure to learn about your meeting with my friend. You were talking about our mutual friend, if I may suppose.
And good to see you keeping on reporting interesting news to Sajha from home.

Ha ha ha ha ! Ali ali gunda gunda jasto dekhine.. that was the best part of my huliya. Never been one, always was a peaceful guy- well, except for hurling bricks to the police during college days, though.

Padma Ratna ji along with three other delegates was visiting the US on invitation of some Foundation in California. They also had a meeting in Atlanta and then in the UN with K. Samuel (?) and who else but our own Kul Chandra ji. Everything was related to peace building in Nepal.

In DC he was invited by Newa organization (?), a day before he was leaving for home. PRT ji gave a nice talk there. He talked about his visit, his positive impressions about the willingness of various people and organizations to help initiate the peace process in Nepal and about previous failed talks and his understanding of the situation in Nepal. In question-answer time, he answered various questions asked by six attendants- including Khem Bhattachan, Hom Acharya, Anup Pahadi, Ina Acharya and myself. It was very interesting. I've got the audio of it. However, t's not in an uploadable format.
