Nepe, thank you for your reply. I seem to understand your thoughts, and i also float on the same boat as you do, i also have my own form of god that i pray, and nomatter what the circumtances are i will always attend all the dharmik functions that require my presense, as a son, brother, any realtionships, because i do not want to be unrespect-ful to any faith that has existed for such a long long time.., anyways at last by reading ur post u dont seem like an atheist to me.. Who created the creator ? If a creator is not required to create the creator, then why can the same assumption not be applied to the universe ? Nepe, you are looking at a creator as a biological being. Creator sud be perfect, and we with our "limited knowledge" sudnt be capable of describing it. Universe existed forever and it is everything, and this universe is the "god", because it stands there causeless, all powerful. But at last all what i said cannot be proved, because i am just saying there "sud" be a creator, but conceving is one thing and convincing me is other. Just like you conceving us to beilive you will win a nobel prize one day, is just imagination, but the fact is u are not getting any nobel prize, , the real truth can only be known thru experience. so sicence can never prove or disapprove the existence of god... As a matter of there are people (scientists) who have been trying to find the way to fix God designed imperfections (for example genetic diseases), nepe, do u know how children are born? Children are born from there parents, and hence parents from their parents, and we do not know how the first human evolved but, we do know for certain that he was evolved here in this earth. and if there is a designer, there is no point for desginer to desgin huamns, in this vast universe. We create things to serve this un-cause universe.

i must say i'm very impressed by the intellectual and philosophical aptitude of the sajhaits... it gets a little immature sometimes but there are a few here that know what they're talking abt... so Let me throw in my two cents (= dui paisa), if i may... the problem with faith is just that, it is one's belief, so by definition it is subjective... and, of course, anything subjective lacks objectivity... people have been talking about the creator as the supreme being who is beyond our capcity to evaluate... but that theory in itself is a paradox... if the creator is so beyond our perception, then why do we keep trying to define him/her/it with our own imagination... when we do this, we are limited by our imperfections to describe him therefore, we discernibly give him/her/it human characteristics... Most religions define god as this 'surpreme' being: - who must be thanked and ass-kissed frequently - who will put you in a crater of fire and torture you for eternity, if you don't do as told - who will pardon you, even if you kill a hundred people, if you just beg for his forgiveness - who thinks he's the sh*t and all the other beings are second class - who will send his son to die for a few thousand isrealites, but will watch helplessly as two world wars, plagues, slavery, genocide and dozens of famines ravage the world he created what are we talking about here in not a supreme creator, but a dysfuntional, arrogant, pompous and incompetent dictator, at best! -

When somebody talks about Bhajan, I think about Anup Jalata... To be honest, I am not fond of any Bhajan, but when I grew up in Tarai, I used to wake up with the serene bhajan of Anup Jalata. I still think that his songs are so captivating and voice very soothing and cadenced with the beat of Tabala. "jal se patala kaun hai kaun bhumi se bhari kaun agana se tej hai kaun kajala se kari" "jala se patala jnana hai aur papa bhumi se bhari krodha agana se teja hai aur ik kalana kajala se kari" I hope I am not in trouble by bringing up hindi bhajan:)

Confused I am touched yaar, from your thoughts.. Every now and then one thing always strikes me, Evolution theory says cause of origin was reaction, action and finally mutation. It talks about RNA, DNA and all sort of buzz word. Then there came a one-cell creature. It was then divided and multiplied, went through survival theory to exist and became something legitimate with distinct organs. It was (don't know) billions of years ago, but what ironic about the hypothesis is, that one-cell creature developed so so fast and it became dinosarus and other BHIM KAYA and non-BHIMKAYA animals. Confuse bro isn't it confusing ? Then dinosaurus exitinct completely leaving behind there fossils. again process started again and here we are human. Well, I know I haven't done indepth study, but isn't that most simplified and commanly believed ? Ok Lets look at Mr. Darwin and Wallace.. They experimented on Moths and came out with Theory of Evolution and natural selection. . But there theories are good enough to be merged with Origin of life. They just talked about the changes in species incourse of adaption. Matter of fact scientist always have always came up with same conclusion, that whatever species exist today or do not exist any more were all same before. Then why there big big variance in structure and anatomy. Well, they say cause may be becoz of drastic enviromental changes and they concluded Mutation theory, and again talked about protien model, genetic diversity, RNA etc, etc. But they still haven't clearify the occurence of so and so process !!! Now look at us we have to believe jelly fish, centipede, humming birds, frog. elephant and human originated from a cell, which doesn't resembles one another neither anatomically or gentically. Whatever it is, all the theories therefore implied that all current life-forms could have evolved from a single, simple progenitor - an organism now referred to as life's last common ancestor. Try to imagine vastness of universe, complexities of brian and rule of nature and THINK about CREATOR with ultimate power, a one and only source of origin. And we believe that distinct power. Nepe Dai also believe in that, MM Bhai also believe in that. So there is no such human who is Aetheist, as long as he is insisted by himself to believe in that POWER. I sound like Christian Fundamentalist don't I ? About BHAJAN I have couple of Cassette from Anup Jalouta. I used listen to those Bhajans when I was back in Nepal but now... :-(

My favourite Nepali bhajan these days is "bhagawan, kahaa ma paau?" sung by Ani C. Dolma lyrics by Durga Lal Shrestha and music composed by Nhyoo Bajracharya. This is a masterful piece where voice, lyrics and music are united in a seamless, spiritual bond. Outstanding in every respect. Musically speaking, a fine example of how western chordal structures are combined with Eastern devotinal melodies and voice. Also a subperb example of how "less is more" in music composition. No keyboard, sound effects, overdone horns or strings..... Just pure voice, tasteful and light guitar and percussion. The whole album by Dolma is remarkable, but this one in particular touches me most. Anup

I too should say my favourite bhajan for this year and may be for the coming years would be Ani Choying's "Bhagawan, kahaan ma paaun". And I have found "Om Muni Muni" intoxicating. Like anupparahi said... "pure voice..." Moment of Bliss, the album, has managed to rise above in terms of music composition, lyrics and voice. HM
