Hi All,
The death toll of the Tsunami victims has reached 60,000 as of now. Is any of our Nepali organization raising any funds for the disaster zone? If not then can we as a community start to raising some funds? If that sounds like a long process then I would recommend donating whatever you can to humanitirian agencies such as Red Cross, CARE etc.

I appreciate and thank you all for the support by the Nepali community when someone (Nepali) needed help. Let's come together once again as a human being and support the relief efforts by various organizations.

If you need any more info on the humanitarian agencies, then please let me know. Or if you would like to start a fund raising programs, we can talk about it too. I strongly encourage everyone to contribute something and I am sure that many of us have already taken the initiative. Let's try to save the lives of those who are still alive and
face serious health catastrophe.

May their soul rest in Peace.

Interesting how some threads make the top of the list while some of them go unnoticed.

Peace!

Isn't it though! And isn't it sad?! But thats the nature of the beast.

I guess the thing to remember here is that though this thread didn't quite get picked up, the idea did.

Just remember login if you please:

Sometimes a message is bigger than the messenger.

Do you want to help the victims or have a thread on top 5 list?

(Please don't take this otherwise. I say what I see)

Latest death tally from BBC:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/4136153.stm

1. Indonesia: 79,940
2. Sri Lanka: 27,268
3. India (inc Andaman and Nicobar Is): 7,330
4. Thailand: 2,394 5. Somalia: 120
6. Burma: 90
7. Maldives: 67
8. Malaysia: 65 9. Tanzania: 10
10. Seychelles: 1
11. Bangladesh: 2
12. Kenya: 1

When i woke up on boxing day, I heard that 3 thousand had died due to quake and floods and i was like 'what the hell, 3000?'. Now as i see the death tally spiral skywards, I would have gladly traded the figure of 3000 with the recent 6-digit one. If only i could.
