Dear friends, families and well-wishers;
On behalf of Nepalese Society, Texas (NST), it?s my great pleasure and honor, as chairperson of the ANA convention 2005, to invite and welcome you to the 23rd ANA Convention to be held in Dallas, Texas from July 1st to July 4th (Friday to Monday). It?s truly our privilege to have you all with us. We feel that we are more than ready to take this responsibility to host the convention and make this future event one of the most memorable events in ANA history. We will do whatever it takes- the big way- the Texas way - to make it successful, won?t waste time to show how beautiful we are as a stronger community and we will prove once again working together what we can achieve. Now I urge all the members of Nepalese Community here in US and all around the World to hold each other?s hands and work together as a team.

Nepalese Society of Texas (NST) hosts ANA convention 2005
NST is a social, non profit organization founded in 1998 at DFW metropolis to serve the people of Nepali origin and their friends. Nepalese community in DFW is very much diverse and this diversity is represented in the NST. The optimum interest of NST is to develop common consensus among us, develop mutual relation, and preserve our cultural identity as well as to bridge the generations and maintains ties with Nepal. NST is honor to host 23rd Annual ANA convention 2005 in Dallas, Texas from July 1st to July 4th (Friday to Monday). Preserving our Nepali identity, cultures, religions, languages and traditions, ANA Convention provides a meeting place for Nepalese and Friends of Nepal to learn and exchange ideas and to volunteer to serve humanity.
Theme (2005): Peace and Unity for Prosperity
We are planning a magnificent as well as an entertaining Opening Ceremony. We have three days filled with interesting and fun things like the art show, poetry reading, sports, kids camp, school reunions, informative and stimulating forums, cultural programs, Concerts, D.J. dancing, etc. As always, the Convention will provide a forum for positive experience of attachment enriching the lives of the members at large; making of new friends and renewing old ones.
We expect to draw over 3000 members of the Nepali community and friends from across North America, as well as many other parts of the world. The organizers are committed to preserving the tradition of excellence in this key yearly event along with new innovative ideas for the ANA 2005 Convention here in Dallas, Texas.

This year, we have come up with more sport events like golf, table tennis and volleyball in addition to soccer and basketball. Sports organizing team is working hard to make this event more successful than the previous years. The culture session will help to seek a balance on spiritual as well as social aspect for an ?all rounded? human well being. For fun and entertainment, the artists, dancers, musicians from Nepal and various parts of the North America will be performing to entertain a multi-generational audience. Three nights of variety cultural programs are being planned with local, national and Nepalese artists adding to the thrill and excitement of the late evenings and nights. The culture committee is working with some renowned artists/bands from Nepal to perform at the Convention. This year?s convention offers an opportunity to vendors and entrepreneurs to market their products and services. Also Nepalese contemporary art show will be led and narrated by Kamana Shrestha. She is coordinating to facilitate and display how Nepalese minds are using the color, brushes and aspirations to reach out the same way any other international artist do, to express oneself to the outside world. Our aim is to bring together students, academics and professionals to discuss various issues related to Nepalese people living in Nepal and abroad. The forum features presentations on women?s participation and empowerment issues, crisis resolution and possible solutions to current political situation of Nepal, economic and social development of Nepal, NRN issues, information technology, immigration law, and youth forum. 23rd ANA convention is about the participation of all the ages. This convention is a family event. In order to have place for kids in ANA convention, our kids? coordinator Bini Rajbhandari is coordinating various full of fun programs with prizes. We encourage all the participants to visit this convention with families & kids and not to worry about their kids to be left out at home. Kids event will run up to two hours each day for two days. The Poetry and Literature events will be held in collaboration with the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), Washington D.C and INLS Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter. INLS will have an evening of "Kabi Sammelan" where you will enjoy a mixture of young budding as well as seasoned and published poets and authors expressing themselves to your fine taste and palates.
