Any thoughts on who (leader) is competent to lead Nepal?

In nepal we tend to associate political sacrifice with good leadership. Is this assumption resonable? Don't you think the mess we are in right now is the result of decisions, rather stupid decisions made by inept leaders (politicians) in singha Durbar during the last decade.

People complain that King G always had the intention of usurping power. If the parties and their leadership knew about this all along the way, why did they fall prey to King g's traps?
