Man, i could not stop laughing when i saw my bank account this morning. do you know why? The balance is zero.Nada...! i know it does not apply for the guys who have already finished their study and have a nice job or people who quit school long time before and working. They might also have a different story, but i am not gonna go into that. I am just wondering about the students in the US who dont have a solid financial back ground back home. Do they have same story? Do they get frastrated when they dont have enough money to pay for the semester? Does that thought come at their mind during doing their homework or trying to listen lecture in the classroom? Do they ever think how many hours they must work in a week in order to pay their bills and their tuition fees? I am just curious. i know it sounds stupid to some people who dont have to go through all these, or some people might come up with bunch of questions about the credibility of students like me. Yea, i never thought it would be that difficult when i was back home because i did not have my brother or my cousin who could give me an idea about the reality. Also, i am not complaining at all; i know i only have one more year to go. However, i just had a curiosity if it was not only me.

I totally hear you dude. It's not just you. At one time, I was so broke that I had to cash advance from my credit card to pay the rent. When I finished my undergrad and grad schools I had around $20000 in debt. But I did earn a lot of money also by working superhard during the summers. So work hard and make the best out of this situation. It will all be fine in the end.. As Neupane mentioned, your situation is better than others considering the fact that you only have a year to go. :D

being a student rocks. you get to meet new people and learn new things... it's more fun being in high school than being in college than being in grad school, though.

I know why you are so outraged now.... Belive me having a pot of gold back home doesn't help..cause at one point you gotto answer when are you going to return them coins and its not worth brawling over the ones that you have gambled already.. Sad to say , but money is important to all of us..when i had to use my first 1 grand from credit card I was so freaked out and paranoid to reallise that i was worse than being broke...i was in debt...i was so into getting back to life that it took 3 part time jobs just to pay my $1500 rent in Manhattan...well it didn't work out cause between my jobs and clubbing hard, i got mad sick and from then I have been trying to change the way i live.. Out here, you survive by yourself..Today you're broke tomorrow you'll save. In order to reach your goals you gotto make subtle changes in life, like my rent for my apartment is 1200 but i share with 2 other people. I work at only one place instead of three, which pays me fair enuf. Its not so much working hard but working smart that helps. If you keep your records well then your credit history would be great and you can still afford your tuition, your car, and living if you earn under 2 grand a month. I got rid of unwanted people in life..so that kept me away from clubbing 24/7. If I quit smoking a pack a day like i do, i'd save more. But there are certain things you need to focus rather than money..its education/career and your health. You die tomorrow your money is not gonna miss you.You lose one oppurtunity in school and career you end up washing dishes for the rest of your life. So don't worry..i'm sure you can find a way out..

Hushpuppy?s advice was awesome man. He was right, you have to work smart in this country in order to make things happen. Here is a great quote for you from Alexander Graham Bell. ?What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.? God bless you!

I have $120,000 debt not with bank, but with my father. He paid for everything, my education, car and rent. I've never worked in US. But now I've two choices either pay him back or look after his business. Some us are lucky, but we all struggle. Now, I'm thinking I rather pay him back than join his business. I'm joining US marines, hopefully will be able to pay him back. By the way, guys u can join army if u want to...just go to recruit center. Anyone hiring?? hehe...
