I knew few of them, But it's time to hear from Knicks fan. There probably aren't any left in Sajha, but what the heck... Knicks 2006 10-21 is not a record that boasts a champion team. It is not a record that you would like to think of playing next game. But if you ask me if the Knicks has a chance to make the playoff, and even more important..a good future with the current roster, I'd say HELL YEAH!!! As far as the playoff chance is concern, that might be a little difficult. But considering the weak Eastern Conference and the fact that Knicks are only out of the top 8 spot by 3 games it doesn't seem impossible at all. One hard fact, Knicks haven't lost a single game in 2006 (3-0). Besides, Knicks don't have a reason to play for draft pick...they don't have any rights to first round draft (traded in Curry deal). As far as the future is concerned, they have a young and promising roster. Marbury is 28 and other promising starts are all less than 26. Curry, David Lee, Channing Frye, Crawford and Nate Robinson all make a young roster consisting of potential big names (Curry is already in that category). If coach Brown keeps playing these players, Knicks will be serious threat within 3 years. Who deserves the credit? Knicks scouts and then Isiah Thomas to some degree. Not one single player remains in this team that existed before Thomas era. It used to be least rebounding team with lowest free throw attempted, now this team attempts more free throws than any other team...play in the paint is the mantra with big guns roaming around always. Knicks record might suggest they are dreadful, but they are looking up. Brown and Marbury seem to have found harmony. Rookies are playing confident. Bottom line, if not this year then next year. Never had Knicks fans been so patient and there is a reason. Several actually: Frye, Lee, Curry and Robinson.

DWI being optimistic about the worst franchise in NY Metropolitan area? Bro are you all excited because Knicks have 3 game winning streak? just wait and see another week :=)You will soon realize how flawed the team is as Coach Brown thinks.... can you tell me why the rookies are getting more mins in Brown system??? Becuase wasn't this the same Coach Brown, who shevled the Darko in Detriot.... I don't understand how can you be all excited about the bench players. Frye looks promising beside that I don't have whole lota faith on other players. He seems to have already thrown the towel for this season and it will reamin the same fore few more years. Only good thing I have seen from Zeke is being creative with 3 first rounder.....but draft is so weak so end up with Nate and Lee.... Bro, Zeke has done so many deals after his arrival that I don't even rem all. here are few that i rem: here are some of the players he signed or traded: Stephon "72 MIL" Marbury -> runs till 07-08 season Penny "44 MIL" Hardaway -> ends this year Jamal "45 MIL" Crawford -> 09-10 (???) Eddie "60 MIL" Curry -> 10-11 season Jerome "30 mil" James -> 09-10 season Vin "I am past PRIME" Baker Q "I miss NASH" Richardson Malik "hefty Contract" Rose Maurice "da BENCH" Taylor Tim "I can play GOOD sometime" Thomas Antonio "I make about the same money as " Davis Larry " YO I am $10 Million dollar coach who don't need to SLEEP with my owner daughter" Brown It's good to do Monday mornign quartback, but didn't we know Kurt Thomas was a solid F/C and Sweetney was going to be reliable Forward? here's what knick roster would have looked like if he hadn't done the deal PG - Marbury SG - Crawford/Hardaway SF - T. Thomas/Ariza/Lee PF - Sweentey/Frye C - K. Thomas/James I used to be a great Knicks fan before Ewing departure and I still have a soft corner for them. I don't think I will be getting to see Knicks hoisting the trophy anytime soon. Zeke needs to be removed from the GM post and new one needs to get rid of ridiculous contract and need to rebuild team. The best city in the world deserves better team may be new owner as well and where's Rusty??? He doesn't seem to care about Knicks and sports these days...

Is Camby still a Knickerbocker or has he been traded too ? I think their best lineup was Ewing, Starks, Oakley era.

Yes! Knicks will be a better and improved team next year with good "hustling" rookies. Marbury started passing more and less turnover, which he lacked and was the main reason for most of the losses in 2005. He is good penetrator but he need to understand what the real point guard does. Which has been improved a lot .. may be Brown had some 1 on 1 talk with him. The new team has now been playing with confidence and seeing the passing lane better. That "One More Pass" was lacking which was improved in last three games. Channing Frye almost comes there for the rookie of the year while Nate tries too much. He still think it's a college game. Eddie Curry needs to be more aggressive. Team should try more three pointers. If these stuff comes together knicks will certainly become a tough team. But still this doesnt give 'em the edge to be the leader. They need at least one good consistent player. Hopefully they will get one. Anyways, lets see how will they play with LeBron and Cavaliers.

hey ubi bro :=) ya become Knicks fan or what :=) This Knicks is known for overpaying the free agents for many years.... how can this team get a good consistent player when the GM does free-spending moves to get avg players like james and curry??? everbody kenw Marbury doesn't like to PASS the ball... everybody knew Q was an average player who became better player playing along side with Nash.... everybody knew Rose is not a full time player and he trades him for a good center.... It's beyond my imagination why Knicks overspends to get average players... I still believe that many good players want to play for Knicks but Knicks management need to be creative to land players like CWEBB and Baron Davis without giving up much oh yeah Marbury needa pass some, frye gotta hustle... Q gotta make some jumper and Curry gotta get more rebound and be more aggresive, Nate gotta be selective while takign shots.... if they can do all that thing why they paying coach $10 mil for??? I know LA got a guy who gets about the same money but that money is not to coach a team, he gets that money for to sleep with Owner daughter :=) Bathroomcoffeee, that's the Knicks team that NBA fans know of... the team who played great coolectively and got the best out of avg players like Starks, Oakley, Smith, Harper, Anthony and Rivers.

Wow, There are few Knickerfoolers like me here. AX, everything you jotted down is right. I didn't like few of Zeke's trade either but at that time they were justifiable. We didn't know if we were gonna get Curry or not and we desperately needed a Center hence we landed Jerome James who had a brilliant post season a year before. Ofcourse 5 years 30 mills is too much for him, but what the heck we were over the cap anyways. In a hindsight he has done trades that came second worse to only Scott Layden, but atleast he is steering the team to more athleticism and youth which is a good thing. And no I am not that excited about it for this year..we may make the playoff we maynot, bottom line is we have learned to be patient and are looking forward to the future. Bathroom, Camby was traded wayyyyyy back for Mc KneeDies (McDyess) by Scott Layden. Ofcourse Oaklley, Ewing, Starks LJ knicks was different...so was Camby, Houstona, Ward and Spree Knicks. This is Zeke Knicks, more characterized by Marbury. To all Marbury haters, he is trying his best to win for the team. Ubi, agreed. Q Rich was brought in for that..to attempt more 3 pointers as well as to bolster the offense. Antonio Davis and Marbury are looked upon as the leaders right now. Bottom line is if you win there is a harmony, if you loose you see blame games.

hmmm...... Not many Knicks here... Hey AX stay loyal to your Knicks as I will with my Celtics :) Let's see which one sees the NBA championship first ? Damn.. it's been frustrating for us Guys hasn't it? None of our teams have the personnel needed to compete for the title. I believe NY has a more competitive squad :) but they have been inefficient. Celtics been the VICTIM of Dany Ainge's childishness. I wish he gets his azz fired. Mark Blount as a starter !! come on. Pierce/Davis/West been good, and shall be productive for few more years. We need some Bigtime Center/PF. Lafrentz, perkins, etc are RELIEF players. what a bad investment we made on La frenz. We gave away Walker/Delk/J. Johnson and a draft pick to get La Frenz and Welsch. Ah.. that hurts. oh well. D. AInge sucks bigtime that is. lol and talk about Larry Lucchino. first "Talented Mr. Epstein" leaves the squad and then two idiots comes in as co-GMS. And then immediately ah.......Damon goes to Bronx. Now morons are dying to ship away Manny. I am sure they will try to ship away ORtiz next year. And amongst the huddle, Varitek will leave the town as well. ANd maybe RedSox will compete with the bottom feeders in the season. SOLUTION to all these: FIRE fcking dickhead "Larry Luchhino." John Henry despite being a very good Owner and a kind-hearted guy, is not realizing the CITY's demand. ANyways, this is what I live with. GO Celtics Go REd Sox Jai Nepal ProudNepali

DWI said "I didn't like few of Zeke's trade either but at that time they were justifiable. We didn't know if we were gonna get Curry or not and we desperately needed a Center hence we landed Jerome James who had a brilliant post season a year before." >>> if they were in need of such a center, why they gave away borderline All Star Center in Kurt Thomas??? here's what i think of Zeke, this dude doesn't have plan... he acts after what media criticizes... this guy tries to fix something but makes it worse. There was no need for Q in KNICKS. You already have Marbury and Crawford who like to shoot everytime they touch the ball and he goes n adds another shooter. WHY??? I don't think you have to be genious to know undersized combo of MSWEET and K. Thomas is better than James and Curry. May be i should have approached Dolan and company few years back :p:p hey bro don't be surprise if you see thousand of people marching around the Mecca of Basketball with FIRE ZEKE placard (sp???)

Ax, You and I both know Kurt Thomas is best suited for Power Forward position. Him an All Star center??? Are we talking about CBA or NBA? I liked Kurt for his defensive effort, offensively he was bit over-rated. He developed his jump shots like 2 years back and still isn't consistent with it. But I do agree that we prolly should've kept Kurty and Sweetney instead of investing 5 years and 30 mills in Jerome James, who was recently suspended by the team. Boston are another sad story. It's funny how we compete equally in Baseball (top notch) and in basketball (bottom of the rack). Football is a different story.

Where ever Marbury goes he bring BAD LUCK to that team. Nets, Suns, now the Knicks. This dude should be traded outta NBA to may be some spanish or russian league team. Seriously.

Hukka That's the general and easy perception about Marbury. Okay, the dude didn't lead any team to championship, but you have to also analyze did he actually made the team worse as everybody claims?? Marbury started his career with Minnesota in 1996-97 season. Prior to this season T-wolves were 25-56 team. Marbury played for T-wolves for 3 years until which they were above 40 wins team (last season they fell down to 25 because of strikes, they were 50%). But since Marbury was getting limited time and wasn't at his prime, you can discount T-wolves from hiis career. Marbury's real career started with NETS. He joined Nets on mid 98-99 season. This season they had 0.320 winning record. NETS roamed around this percentile for next 3 years he was there, so he didn't do much change. Marbury joined Phoenix 01-02 season. They fell down to 36 wins from 51 but next year reemerged with 44 wins. 03-04 season he joined Knicks around which time Phoenix was again down to 29 wins only. Marbury is 6-2 point guard who has career 20.5 points and 8.2 assists per game, has been highly durable and made All-star 2 times. He set the record in Olympic Basketball for most points. How many other 6-2 guards can boast that record? A.I., and...??? Not too many. Then why does everybody think Marbury makes this team bad? Surfacial analysis. Whichever team Marbury left, it got better. But they fail to realize what happened after he left. Nets got better undoubtedly with Kidd, but you have to remember K-Mart and Jefferson had matured to top level by that time. Also Kittles provided extra boost. Had Marbury been there, would they have recorded same winning percentage? Probably not, but the record would have been better nevertheless. Players mingled well with Kidd than Marbury and that was his problem in the beginning of his career. When Maruby left Suns, they got better too..but Marion fostering and Stoudemire playing real solid that was destined to happen. Ofcourse Nash has made this team top-notch but don't tell me with Marbury there they would have really sucked. He is not the best point guard. He isn't Kidd or Nash, but he has changed a lot. He listens and is very less selfish now, heck..Brown was upset for him not taking shots. He still can take control of a game, he is probably best suited for shooting guard, but he ain't that bad of point guard either. Bottom line, if he doesn't desrerve all the acclaimation then he also doesn't deserve to be branded the worst one either. Coming from a Knicks fan, I am okay with Marbuy staying with Knicks for another 5 years.

I understand DWI bro. I just hate the guy for being greedy only because KG made more money than him and leaving Minnesota. We had a good thing going with young KG and Marbury back in the days. He has great individual stats and there is no doubting there. But to some extend it does seem to work that, wherever he goes that team never really gets it going. But I guess there are other teams that never get it going...so at least Marbury gives you hopes.
