for ac/dc.....
""Pulp Fiction" is one of those roller-coasters of a movie. It is both a joy and a trial to sit through. Amazingly original and unforgettable, Quentin Tarantino's trash masterpiece never gets old or seem outdated. It put a face on American independent film making in 1994. Miramax had been around since the 1970s and no one had heard of it before this film. Studios went into a panic when this film came out because they knew it would be an amazing hit. Of course it was. Independent film making became the rage and hit its peak in 1996 when four of the five nominated Best Picture films were from independent studios. The screenplay and direction by Tarantino are quite amazing, but the cast makes the film work. John Travolta (Oscar nominated) re-invented his career with this film. Bruce Willis cemented his celebrity. Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman (both Oscar nominees) became marketable superstars. Others who make appearances include: Ving Rhames, Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Steve Buscemi, Frank Whaley, Harvey Keitel, and of course Quentin Tarantino himself. They all leave lasting impressions as well. Samuel L. Jackson stood out the most to me, his lack of substantial screen time may have cost him the Oscar. Just an amazing accomplishment, all involved deserve recognition. Easily 5 stars out of 5."

Quentin Tarantino is a very unique director and his movies are worth to watch. Even the Bollywood people like his movies and Kante was the copy cat of his movie Reservoir dogs. Saying that I don't blame if anybody don't understand Pulp Fiction. It’s a little difficult movie to understand but I liked it. I'm suprise that The Life of David Gayle is not on anybody’s list. If you have not watched it watch it...it’s the kind of movie you will remember for a long time. It is my second best after the shawshank redemption.

Many people don't have "Saving private Ryan" on their list...It's the Greatest war movie ever made....It has the most brutal and violence filled first 30-mins among all war movies...

Virus,
I bet you could find khamosi in indian store....I heard black is worth watching too...never really had a chance to see it.

One of the best things about tarantino's movies are the profundity of conversation....the words are mostly abstruse....but still deliver high class dialouges.

His movies are off beat...quite a deviation from common movies...and I guess that's what it makes them special.

I agree with pat. Saving Private Ryan has to be one of the best war movie ever. I'm also very surprised that everyone here had left out "Million Dollar Baby". C'mon people! What an awesome movie.

Pat watch "Brothers at arms", "platoon" and "the thin red line" before saying that saving private ryan is the greatest war movie. It is a great directorial and has the best opening scene for any war movies. But overall, i think "brothers at arms" is the greatest of all. although it is not a theatrical release, but it still is a movie. Platoon, perhaps is the greatest theatrically released war movie.

dude..if you are talking about brothers in arms 2005- directed by jean clauda then it's one of the worst movies ever....This movie owes 85 mins of my life.....
The thin red line (7.2/10)....Good movie....Platoon(8.1/10)......Very very good movie....saving private ryan(8.3/10).....Great movie...
So, saving private ryan beats platoon by a very narrow margin of .2

Saving Private Ryan is without any doubt the best war movie ever. Not any other war movies come close to it. Million dollar baby...well I agree with you Re#ash, its not on many peoples list but its on mine...I posted mine on couple of days ago. However my second favorite "LIFE OF DAVID GYALE" (after the shawshank redemption) is not on any list. Shawshank Redemption was on almost everyone's list. Guys if you like SR, you'll like the life of david gyale...if you have not watched it, watch it tonight. You will thank me tomorrow. Also, I watched "march of Penguins" last night, man I was surprised how good that movie was. Its worth to watch too.

My apologies for dredging up a dying thread, but, I had to put in my two cents worth :-)

1. Casablanca : Bogart was brilliant
2. Pride and Prejudice (BBC Version: The ever so dishy Colin Firth) :-)
3. Breakfast at Tiffany's
4. When Harry Met Sally
5. Dirty Pretty Things
6. Howard's End
7. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
8. A Fish Called Wanda
9. Mystic River (How could you gp wrong with Beacon, Penn and Eastwood!)
10. Chariots of Fire (Old one but a classic)

A lot of folks seem to have loved Pianist. All I remember of that film was the box of Kleenex I went through as quick as lightning while I watched that. What an emotionally draining movie!
