Can people in GBNC give us a detail on what exactly are we paying for ? $ 25 for Dinner ? tyo five star hotel ma 3 course meal ko pani $25(appetizer, glass of wine, entree, and desert). What are we geeting for our $25 ? Are there any student discounts ? Cause I have 2 full time jobs, a full time school ..$25 can feed me for 3 days. I would like to come to the party but GBNC thinks our cummunity is a cash cow ? that they can milk it any way they want without out concent ? How about soliciting people that have 6 figure salaries to subsidize students like me who are having a hard time trying to ends meet ? I know for fact that they are not paying the prformers. So where is all of this $$$ going ? Don't tell me into Executive comm. pocket ? Indian Buffet costs 7.50 why $ 25 ? Ok hall rental is $750-1000. Still checks and balances don't match.

Hey you can't complain about the price, most cities charge 30 or 35 dollars cover charge. Compared to that 25 dollars is not bad. They also are supporting the Boston sports teams by donating 5 dollars per ticket. Thats not a bad idea.

If you don't want to support your nepali community then don't go there. There will always be people who want to support thier Nepali community. I have seen you complain about the same thing everytime but what ends up is that a lot of people will end up going there.

If you think 25 is too expensive then you can stay home noone is forcing you to go. There will always be people for whom the 25 dollars will be worth spending to meet other freinds from the city and enjoy the new years day with other nepali folks, eating nepali food, and enjoying nepali show.

I do not care what other Cities charge. I am talking about Greater Boston where majority of the Nepali population are students. How about Milking some of those Business Owners, Six Figure Salary holders for Money instead of Robing the poor Nepali students ? Or is it too much work for GBNC ? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF GBNC ? ISN'T IT TO HELP PEOPLE IN NEED ? IT WAS ORIGANLLY FORMED TO HELP STUDENTS IN GREATER BOSTON AREA. In late 80's and early 90's Jyoti Man and Mahendra Sakya formed it to help Nepali Students in times of need. But that seems to have been lost its purpose in the shuffle and THE IDIOTS HOLDING THE TITTLES CURRENTLY THINK OTHERWISE. THEY THINK WE ARE THEIR CASH COWS. THEY ARE TOO FUKIN LAZY TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE BARE MINIMUM. IF THE TEAMS WANT T SHIRTS, GET SPONSERS LIKE HIMTEL, SAJHA, EVEREST REALTY, PREM LA,(they can write it off in their Taxes) etc etc. IT would be good advertise for the sponsers at ANA too. BUT NOOOO THEY RATHER MILK THE PEOPLE WITHOUT MONEY RATHER THEN DOING SOME EXTRA WORK.

I have to agree with Hum jayega....the $25 cost is not cheap, but it is also not worth whining over. When someone puts in the time and effort to organize shows, a lot of $$ goes in that are not 'visible'- so the food may be $7.50 and the hall maybe $1500 for the nite, but if I am spending a week or more arranging for the show, then I need some incentive also. Specially if I could be making a certain amount of money using that time for something else.
If one does not like the price, then the best recourse is to find an alternative that is conducive to them. This is not to say GBNC is doing price discrimination, all it means is if they are the ones making the show happen and setting the prices, either show your support by going or not showing your support by not going---or organize your own show and make it free for everyone else..now thats a thought.


I will not be there to see the turnout, but I wish the show well.

Some sources tell me that people who are fond of smoking joint will be provided with joint at no extra cost....only thing you gotta do is find the "point man".

These days most club cover charge are more than $10. $25 for nepali new years party is not that bad considering its once a year event and also includes dinner. Damador...if you can't afford than no body is forcing you to go. If that money can feed you for 3 days than why bother and try not to be a jack ass by posting such stupid comments.
