HEY folks read this article. This is for your awareness !
True face of SPA
BY PR PRADHAN
Perhaps, the first decision that the SPA government made was the cancellation of business deals of buying aircraft from China and Russia. Although orders had already been finalized by the previous government, the present government, without any hesitation or without considering the importance of bilateral relations with those countries, cancelled the deals. This makes our argument true that the government is serving the Indian interests and the interest of India is to keep Nepal in isolation from friends like China, Russia, Pakistan, among others. Let's see, how far this government will work to keep Nepal in the cold of international relations!
Surely, the purchase of one or two aircraft from Russia or China will not affect their business, but it is more symbolic than business.
INDIAN INTENTION
In the age of E-mail and Internet, the world has become very small. We can know everything happening in the world if we open our E-mailbox or Internet. Through
E-mail and Internet, this scribe had the opportunity to know India's real intention on Nepal. Indians are enormously encouraged from the political change in Nepal. They are now openly talking for occupying Nepal, as no time is more favourable to swallow up Nepal than when the SPA is in government. "Kya batt hey!"
MAOIST'S RECRUITMENT, EXTORTION & SPA's WHINING
The SPA government has announced that it is stopping new recruitment in the Army and has already curtailed the army's budget. On the other hand, the government has announced to feed the "people's army" by providing the government fund as per the Maoist demand. However, the Maoists have not stopped recruiting new insurgents. The Maoists have also not stopped extortion saying that it was their compulsion, as reported by almost all newspapers. The SPA government has not been able to demand with the Maoists strongly enough to stop them. The most it could do is whining. The Maoists have already announced that they will not lay down arms prior to the constituent assembly polls. What should we understand from these messages, please, Mr Koirala?
LOOSING NATIONAL IDENTITY
Although this scribe is not a Hindu fundamentalist, it is Hindu by religion. For centuries, Nepal has remained as a Hindu state and Nepal has an identity of being the only Hindu country in the world. From last Thursday, we have lost this identity after our Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala through the seven-party proclamation declared Nepal a secular state. Cow is our national animal. Cow slaughtering is prohibited in Nepal and also cow meat, say beef, is prohibited to eat. Now, being a secular country, like in India, permission for slaughtering cow is publicly granted. Now, will Nepalese be tasting what the meat they have detested until now tastes like? No comment, however, there will be reaction on every action. Science students know it better.
GOVERNMENT PROBE COMMITTEE
Under the recommendation of the high-level Probe Commission formed by the government to take action against those who were involved in the suppression of the people's movement-2, several police officials have been suspended. One among them is AIGP Rajendra Bahadur Singh, second man in the Nepal Police. Later, it was disclosed that Singh was out of the station when agitation was taking place here. Likewise, the then ministers Ramesh Nath Pandey, Kamal Thapa, Tanka Dhakal, Srish Shumsher Rana and Nikcha Shumsher are under the police custody as per recommendation of the Probe Commission. They have not been interrogated by the Commission till date. The then home minister Kamal Thapa is not allowed to read any newspaper and meeting with anybody else except from his family members. The rest of the former ministers are allowed to meet friends at least twice a week - Saturday and Wednesday. How did the then ministers suppress the agitators? The then minister Pandey was ill when the agitation was taking momentum. He is alleged for spending the government fund while visiting abroad. In the new government issued White Paper, his expenditure for visiting China, Russia, Pakistan is mentioned but knowingly or unknowingly the expenditure that he made during his India visit has not been disclosed. The fact is that after his China visit, China gave 78 crore rupees as grant under the non-budgetary support against the government charge of misuse of one crore rupees worth of government fund during Pandey's entire visit abroad. During the visit to UAE, Pandey made an agreement for jobs to 140 thousand Nepalese in the UAE. Previously, UAE had employed only 40 thousand Nepalese. If a foreign minister's job is not to visit foreign countries, what should he do then? Perhaps, Finance Minister has to clarify this!
