I am on H4 visa status and I go to school fulltime. Most of the scholorships/financial aid etc. that I have explored so far requires a SSN. Does anyone know of merit based scholorships or the likes which doesn't require SSN?

Thanks !

I get to pay in-state tuition on H4.
I don't have to attend college full time colelge if I cannot afford to unlike F1 students who have to attend full time at any cost.

Thanks anyway !

Guzmoon:
Have you tried using your Tax ID? A tax Id is issued for H4 visa holders. I think a Tax Id should work.

ICafly,
Thanks ! I will check with the Bursar's office.

Dariwal, I am in Texas and all the H4 visa holders in Texas are eligible for in-state tution provided they've been residing in the State for more than a year.

I know CA has the same rule. My friend went to the Univ. there and paid in-state tuition.

Which state are you in btw?

The eligibility for in state tuition is listed in the college's website most of the time, if you cannot find that, I think it would be best to make an appointment with the admission dept and talk to a counselor and explain.
