I think by clearing they mean Repairing... Look down at the lower right hand corner fof the screen near the clock and click the two computers. Then, go to Support and hit Repair. Repair resets the connection and re-searches for the IP....okie

Thanks for the reply, it's not repair.. It's a DOS command .. The idea is to clear the Computer's IP address, when restarted and connected to the Internet, it will automatically reset ur IP address ..this actually is shortcut method and I know it works but I don't how to clear my comp's IP...

Anthony 15 - If I remember correctly, you need to do the following; (1) Go to the command prompt from Start>Run> type in cmd (2) Type in ipconfig /release - this may take a few seconds and will release the ip address (3) Type in ipcongfig /renew - your network adapter will now aqcuire an IP address which will normally be different from your old one. Hope that helps. :)

Hmm, that sounds a lot like what Repair does though. Care to enlighten me on the difference?

I think it's the same although I am not 100% certain what else 'Repair' does. In this case, either of these two options should work.

I agree with Captain Haddh... u need to go to command prompt then use ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew Do ipconfig /help to get more info on other options... there is someting like ipconfig /repair -all etc.. cannot remember.. Good Luck.. if that doesnt solve the problem.. reboot ur pc... disconnect the router for about 30 seconds... and reconnect again... try viewing the router setting from the IE brower... u can do that by typing the ipaddress of the router...

First of all, renewing the IP address does not necessarily help you get stronger connection. You wanna make yourself clear on that. Secondly, as the guys suggested above, ipconfig release and repair ONLY works for the Private IPs, meaning 192.168.*.* or in some cases 10.1.*.* -- and that ain't helping you much. Comcast must have provided you with the Dynamic IP address, which can be changed if you turn the modem (not The ROUTER) 'OFF' , and let it stay at least half hour. That will flush the DNS and your current IP, and the ISPs router will most likely generate a new PUBLIC IP for you~~ According to your description, your DNS isn't doing its job. Go to command prompt and type "ping yahoo.com" -- You might not get any response --Now try "66.94.234.13" ; if that sends you an ACK (acknowledgement with 4 lines of replies), you know your DNS needs reconfigured. In most cases, renewing the PUBLIC IP takes care of that. Good Luck ~@~

anthony15, one basic question first... are you using internet sharing router or just general router? if you are using just general router then you might need either proxy server or use windows internet sharing. The easiest way to share braodband internet connection is to get internet sharing router.
