Ppl say.. maoist war is due to the failure of 12 yrs democracy... i meant.. that the war against fuedelism had started even 50 yrs before, so maoist war is just an extension to that war.. then also Mahendra used Tulsi Giri, now also Gyanendra tried to use Tulsi Giri.. In saying this, i am not supporting the killings by Maoists, just tried to say.. anti monarchy rebellion is not due to the failure of 12 yrs democracy.. Democracy is the Best, not Monarchy or Single Party Maoism. And Monarchy has always been the root to political instablity. Even in 1962 and even in 2006.

Suraj2006 - Very interesting - thanks for the link. I always get a kick when I read stuff from way in the past. For one thing, the political tone back then seems so different. I agree with your other point about how this all started. Clearly the seeds of discontent were sowed long before multi-party democracy was restored. It is true that those in power after 1990 were guilty of some commission and a lot of omission which made things worse but Nepal was a volcano long waiting to explode.
