Actress Sajja Mianali is getting married to Om Raj Bhattrai, a US citizen at 8:30 am today amongst traditional rituals at Indreni Complex, Naya Baneshwor. According to her sister-in-law -- Bimala Mainali -- the marriage ceremony shall be conducted in a very simple way. Could not see what was happening since we were not invited!
Om Raj, an MBS Graduate and working as an accountant is permanently settled in the US. Sajja is the youngest daughter of Gopal Raj Mainali and Sarita Mainali.
We were keen on know how the couple met and since Sajja was too busy yesterday, we couldn't get hold of her for first hand information which is understandable! Something was better than nothing, so we decided to ask her sister-in-law, Bimala. Here is what she says, "One of my relatives told me that there is this guy who is interested in Sajja and wants to get married to her. After hearing about this, we decided to meet the person and now… as they say ‘the rest is history’. It has just been a week that they have known each other and us as well… and they just happen to click! Some days back they got engaged and today they are getting married."
Sajja had been taking it rather slow as far as her career in Kollywood was concerned. He had not signed any movies neither was she involved in any shoot for the past six/ seven months. Now that she is married, there is little chance that she will make a come back. They might go to the States now since Om resides there!" informs the jubilant sister-in-law.
Until date, Sajja has acted in over 25 movies and numerous tele-serials. She started her career as a child artist. Her first movie was 'Nau Dada Pari'. She was just 17 years old then. Lastly Bimala states, "Sajja had a dream of acting in movies, which she did and later she had an aim to make a movie, which she accomplished together with Nikhil Upreti. The movie is 'Sawadhan' and it was a huge success. The reason why she decided to take a break was because she wanted to study. I think that she will continue with her education."
According to sources, Om Raj Bhattarai, who hails from Chandragadhi of Jhapa district is the youngest son. Om Raj had done some reporting work for Nepal Television's “Haamro Kathmandu” program and had been living in the USA after winning the DV lottery. It's said that Sajja hasn't done any films for the past six months and had also rejected half a dozen new offers. We now know why! Here’s wishing the newly weds a very happy and prosperous life ahead! We are definitely going to miss her presence in Kollywood and we wish her all the best in whatever she chooses to do. Congratulations!!!
