I was disappointed by the song...another nepali song sung by an Indian..now he does have a great voice, but cmon dont we have enough talent within our borders? wouldnt this song have sounded so much better with maybe a Yam Baral or a Uday Sotang, or even that guy who used to sing Narayan Dai's songs when he was a kid (forgot his name) And the girl does not look that great..go to cyber nepal guys and check out the talent there...much better. Bharatiya Ghajal samrat ko pahilo nepali sangraha re...what the fwack? does that mean anything with bharatiya connections is now considered premium goods? have the times changed that much?
the lyrics of the song is great but the music and the voice sounds like a typical hindi ghazal.. maybe they thought Jagit Singh would be another hit like Gulam Ali singing nepali ghazals.... too bad
Yeah, the girl doesn't look that great. She is neither a model nor an actress. She got to work in this video courtsey Mr Sher Bahadur Deuba. She is his saala's wife.
The lady in the video is Arzu's cousin, Pramod's or Pradeep's wife or may be ex-wife. She's Gauri KC's daughter, Samyukta. I think she's still got it!
They are the infamous twins who used to own Hotel Kathmandu. I"m always confused who is who .
The video is quite good. I don't know why people think Nepali songs shouldn't be sung by others. Jagjit has a very rich voice and goes really well with this ghazal.
Quite a few people have opulent homes including the likes of Suraj Vaidya.
i don't like jagjit singh sad sad sad always marnai loagya jastai it's end of the world jastai geet gaucha moro.
dhoti haru lai bore garera sakayo aba nepali lai bore garna ayecha. kasto boring geet.
video was good though. and also mithun is mithun and rajesh is rajesh why compare? i like mithun but if rajesh were a hindi movie star he would be no less than mithun. hai
nepali singers should have the first rights on nepali songs...I have nothing against dhotis singing in our language, but not at our expense. I still remember the days when all our movies recorded their songs in bombay, and they paid top dollars for the dhoti singers to sing since they could not afford to transport our narayan gopals, our deep shresthas , our prakash shresthas and our kumar basnets---finally someone had the good sense to get Prakash shrestha to sing in Kanchhi, and get Narayan dai to sing in Lahure and Chino, and guess what if you remember all our hit nepalese movie songs, most have been sung by nepalese ( and yes Udit Narayan falls in this category too)--- I am not trying to prove a point, all I am saying is we seem to be getting trapped in this 'bahadur' mentality, where we feel anything a dhoti does is superior to what we do. I challenge that notion. Peace.
I agree with Shirish ji, its a song not a gazal. geet meetho chha, tara yahaa tyo ladaki ko bhanne kuraa ma discuss rahechha. je hos, bideshi le gaayeko geet ramro nai maanu parchha.
Unlike the modern western music which has been classified and subclassified into bewildering number of genres and sub-genres, South Asian modern music has not started a tradition of differentiation and classification as yet. Yet ghazal music is distinctly recognizable. What I am trying to say is, in future, when and if we ever started to categorize our modern music, "ghazal" will probably be a name for a distinct genre of music. At that time, it won't be erroneous to call this particular song (just the singing, not the lyrics) a ghazal. Until then, it is. As Shirish pointed out, the lyrics is not in the format of traditional गजल. It is just a गीत, not गजल ।
MUSIC-VIDEO FEATURING RAJESH HAMAL WORTH THREE LAKHS!
Superstar Rajesh Hamal does not give much importance to music-videos and when he does, he outshines everybody in the business... with style, attitude and flare! When we speak about Kollywood, Rajesh Hamal stands out tall and strong and there is no argument on that. The Nepali film industry may not be doing wonders lately but Mr. Hamal's credibility as an actor is second to none.
By now, everyone is aware of the fact that prominent musician Alok Shree is coming up with a Nepali ghazal album 'Samyog' which features none other than the veteran ghazal singer of India -- Ghazal Samrat Jagjit Singh and the lyricist of whole album is J B Samayogi. This much talked about album will be released under Alok's home production Surtaal Music Company.
We have also been informed that Alok has invested over 24 lakhs for the making of his dream project -- 'Samyog'. When Alok has gone so far, why would he compromise in the making a good music-video? Information has it that a budget of three Lakhs has already been spent in the making of this video. You don't have to wait too long as this music-video is scheduled to be premiered worldwide today at Call Kantipur, Kantipur Television at 5pm sharp.
The first music-video from this album is "Kun Maya Sadar Bho Kun Maya Badar Bho" and the man behind the making of this music-video is the renowned Bhusan Dahal. The entire music-video was shot at President Suite, Hyatt Regency, Boudha. All said and done...one thing which has taken all of us by surprise is that -- Rajesh Hamal did this music-video for free! Talk of being generous. Along with Rajesh Hamal also featured on it is Samyukta Rana.
'Samyog' will be released informally on Monday without much fanfare and if you are wondering why Alok chose to release the much talked album so quietly...even we are trying to figure it out. After all knowing how Alok works, something out of the ordinary may be cooking up in his mind! 'Samyog' will be released officially though after Dashain and the man who has planned to grace the releasing ceremony is none other than Jagjit Singh himself.
---------- FINALLY i found the articel abt the VIDEO -----------
"We have also been informed that Alok has invested over 24 lakhs for the making of his dream project -- 'Samyog'. When Alok has gone so far, why would he compromise in the making a good music-video?"
Very interesting. 24 Lakh for an album and related music videos.
It'll be interesting to see what the financial break-down is so as to see what costs a lot of money and what doesn't.
That said, as a Nepali whose passion, among others, is movies, I await the times when SOME of today's young, hip, creative and technically excellent Nepali music-video directors/documentary film-makers -- people like Alok Nembang, Simos Sunuwar, Bhushan Dahal, folks at Nepalaya etc -- try making full-length Nepali feature films.
Something tells me that their films are bound to be a lot "better" than the fare we get from "kalakar-directors" like Ashok Sharma, Dayaram Dahal and others.
Then again, my personal prejudice is that everything BETTER about Nepal lies in its future and not in the past. :-)
Another Nepali muisic video whihc is TECHNICALLY well made. Girl looks really gorgeous. In fact, Nepali gals r extremely beautiful but its our directors who cant work well with cameras. Look this music video, how sensual and charming the girl looks.
I like the song too. I enjoy listening Nepali music but when I see theri music videos it seems like CHILD'S play. But let's hope with the passage of time it will improve like our music industry. To be honest, I have watched more than thousands Nepali music videos but hardly a handful were up to the mark. Most of the times they seem like REAL JOKE.. im not humiliating our Music video directors but its the fact........
