You may probably know it, but the best way is seek internship is through the school, itself. I am sure all schools have some center that bridges the students to the prospective employers. If I were you, I would go to the career management center (or whatever name your school has) and start from there. If that option doesn't work for you, you can google the IT companies that give internship opportunity to international students. To name one company, Dell is one of the biggest recruiters; you may want to give a try to it. Well, evidently you are an IT student, I will let you google yourself and get the list! Good luck! :)

Try open source projects under Google collaboration. There are many projects. It might work.

Thanks folks! Ya, I have been trying with university based job search but they seem extremely slow and have deadlines. They offer job for summer/spring..so was just wondering if it would be faster with direct company affiliation. Are you guys working in IT sector?
