NOW, check the ip first . they might be playing with the DNS entries.

kantipur changed their Domain name to www.ekantipur.com last year
However, the domain name had not expired untill yesterday. So that is why you could still log on to kantipuronline.com (and it would automatically take you to ekantipur.com).
Now the domain name (www.kantipuronline.com) has expired. So that is why it doesn't work.

Aite .. i would like to avoid any confusions here , clear the cached DNS entries from your PC using this command. THAT MIGHT / MIGHT NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

i have heard that due to earth quake in taiwan , internet in nepal is down and it will be alright from tuesday re . so might be that it is down for a while .

rozan . Thats NOT the case! The website is hosted in NORTHERN AMERICA where most of the other internet is. And i doubt , if they have already had the mirror in NEPAL ?

Californication, DNS issues might be resolved within some time now if they are actually changing it. We can wait until like tomorrow to see for any changes.

Guys, Just go to www.ekantipur.com It's the same website- different domain name!
According to "whois," kantipuronline was updated on jan 01, 2007. That might be the reason for the problem.

(Directnic) They should have reduced the TTL for changes like that rather than default 86400 (24 hours).

There might seem problem until you flush your cache ..
From your PC , on the command prompt , do a $ ipconfig /flushdns
If there is a router , resetting a router could remove the DNS cache if , it has caching enabled.

I don't think this is related to the dns cache of your pc, but the cache of your isp. The site is working fine from home here, but not working from my university. Refreshing the dns cache has no effect unless your isp updates the new dns information.

you're correct. i meant , if your ISP's dns is updated , but not yours in that possibility!

check with the dig utility at your univs DNS to see if it has the updated entries?
