If you have a bank account with Bank of America, get one from them. They will easily give a credit card to their members. Similar is the case with other banks. So, check with the bank where you have your checking account. If not, try capital one. Don't try American Express as they are pretty tough on it at the beginning. City Bank also does have cards for college students and is worth trying. Of course, it is not a good idea to apply to too many credit cards at the same time. But, try one or two and wait for a while before applying for another if you are declined.

These days BOA is very strict giving the credit card. They issue the prepaid credit card in the beginning. Try citi cards. They also have some cash back.
