There is nothing controversial in demanding equal representation based on population.

However I do think that reservations for jobs etc can be controversial issue. It has always been everywhere. But right now the gorvernment is showing reluctance to meet the justified demands and instead trying to supress the movement.

Anywaz while china and india are growing at above 7% we are stuck to minimal growth with higher rise in population. The politics has to be STABLE for us to join the higher growth trajectory. Justified demands of all sections of society should be met and a new nepal should be formed.

Think responsibly, continued civil war like situation can turn even most prosperous countries to destitutes. The issues must be resolved through common effort. The blame squarely lies on Girija government to bring in a situation where this 'common' effort is seen lacking for the issues relating to non-previleged groups.

I find paramendra bhagat a bit radical and a bit too in-your-face with the aggressive nature with which he pushes forth his ideas. But apparently it works, that's why he does it. How else can you explain all these threads and articles in blogs devoted to just him. This is the world we live in today - Ann Coulter would not be as famous if her conservative agenda wasn't as radical and to the far right as it is. Provoking people and getting them all riled up is the best way to get people talking about issues and he seems to do it very well. Nobody would pay attention to him if he held a moderate view on the madhesi issue.

That being said, I haven't read anything as stupid as the title of this thread in a long time. If you think a person should be deported from the US for expressing his views, you probably don't deserve to be there.

You're giving him more credit than he deserves.. I wonder how many madhesis in nepal read his english blog and join the movement.

I respect Madhesis' rights and they should be given their rights within Nepal. But division of Nepal should not be a part of their demand. Overall right now everybody in Nepal is suffering, not only Madhesis. All communities have their grievances. Let us not ask what Nepal has given to you, but what you have given to Nepal, at this moment:-) (I feel all the vibes JKF was radiating then)
Terai is an integral part of Nepal and all those people who think they are Nepalis can stay in Terai. All those who think they are not, can leave Nepal. The government is ready to support the Madhesis and give them what they want, but don't even think of a separate nation in Terai. Oh all those Madhesis who want to divide Nepal, you are asking for something your forefathers could not preserve for you; don't ask for blood of pahadis. You know they give it to you to preserve Nepal.

All those who are saying Madhesis make 50 % of Nepali population, you guys are wrong. Everywhere in Terai, you see more pahadis than Madhesis.

Let us get united not divided. Let us be constructive not destructive.
