Ever wondered how Nepalese people here in US are segregating themselves based on race. It may be sublime but it is true or at least that's what i feel. I see events organized in US cities posted in Sajha with names such as TAMANG's NIGHT. or KARKI SAMAZ or something like that. Why are nepalese people grouping among their race and creating this feeling of disintegration. Why do we have these alll sorts of fancy Societies, but not a nepali society? Why are we segregating ourselves??

Good post and I agree as well. In networking sites such as Facebook, groups have been created titled " Chettris United " , "Nepalese Brahmin Society". It is hilarious indeed to see people still fancying their involvements in these sorts of utter rubbish societies to promote disintegration and discrimination. Make no mistake, some benefits of mutual understanding aside, groupism and organization based on race and caste bring no good except fostering the feeling of superiority and such. Let common sense prevail and I wish that we all Nepalese were united by our nationality in stead of some meaningless groups and organizations.

Applying Mendal's LAW OF SEGREGATION. Allele segregates while gamete formation. Applying this rule to Nepalese we get, Allele for chetri, tamang, bahun, newar, sarki, damai or whatever it is segregates while coming to US. As a result, same allele or like molecules attract each other. People having same allele are likely to attract each other and don't often bind with other types of allele. If these people having different allele wants to bind then a new species will be formed which we call a "mutant". And most of the time mutants are harmful. So, raazstone, if these Nepalese people do not segregate ,they will create mutants which are harmful for the society.

raazstone wrote, ...."Why are nepalese people grouping among their race and creating this feeling of disintegration...." It is simply a reflection of what was happening in Nepal for hundreds of years. Nothing new about it.

sYaKuuRiolAKU nchImb According to recent reasearch, Nepalese have different types of Allele. Each ethnic groups of Nepal contains four out of five DNA's amino acids which are AGCTU. A for Adenine G for Guanine C for Cytosine T for Thymine U for Urasil So, same group often have similar amino acid conformation but if these people do not segregate and wants to bind then their DNA structure gets in conflict, as a result 'mutant' will form. ( Note: This research is done only in Nepales people and do not reflect Non-Nepalese)

ATGCU are neither alleles or aminoacids these are the nitrogenous bases present in DNA and RNA every living organism's DNA has ATGC and RNA has AUGC three nitrogenous bases make some sort of code for a aminoacid and manyaminoacids make protein which give certain characters called traits. mutation is actually certain abbretiations in these nitrogenous bases by agents such as physical or chemical no offence please i just wrote what i knew but i may be wrong yes different ethnic communities may have certain differences in their DNA structures due to polymorphisms which called RFLP and can be determined by doing PCR and gel electrophoresis.

Did you read the NOTE in the bottom of my post. This is a special research done only for Nepalese people. I know what you mean but this case is different. Nepalese people are extraordinary people. Their whole body structure is different. The chemical reaction which takes place inside Nepalese brain is totally different from those of Non-Nepalese. Nepalese people always wants to fight, they always try to pull each other legs. The whole Nepal is an example for you. Nepal is rich in hydropower and natural beauty but still is one of the poorest country in the world. Who are responsible for this? ONLY Nepalese people. So something extraordinary chemical thing must be going on Nepalese brain. And this is all the research about. If you don't understand what i mean in a scientific perspective then you should go beyond my words.

Though I am a Brahmin but i hate those brahmins most who tries to create racial environment and disintegrated ourselves from us. I have seen many racist threads in sajha. I request all those people not to follow that tradition of discrimination that our uneducated ancestors had initiated. At least we are bit intellectual and can understand this is not right thing to do. The only race I know is HUMANITY, that is too inclusive of the betterment of all living creators in the world. it sounds philosophic but ultimately it is only the cure for this disintegrated world which is suffering from terrorism, weapons competition, racism and all these things.

It's been on my mind for quite a while, so I've stopped going to any of them. Only to functions where everybody is included.

Using Word disintregatin,as far as in Nepalese contest should not be taken seriously.I think it's okey to from groups based on their culture and background as long as everybody is very welcomed and they respect other organization as well.i haven't been treated differently when i attend the events organized by different cultures and caste from nepal.Alot of nepalese living abord, may look and came from different background but truth is they all think ALIKE.ie, they not happy what is going on back Nepal?

People hang out with who they like. For example, except for very few, none of my Nepali friends are of my own jaat. And they are all from different jaats. As for these cultural programs, that's exactly what they are, cultural programs. Those events are held to showcase and preserve our traditions back home. And as far as I know, those events are open to all, not just for that particular jaat. So, good for them. As for the facebook and other community sites, people do what people wanna do.

ever wondered how "a party in a US city gonna preserve our tradition back home???" Anyways, i was more concerned by the anxiety of the feeling of how nepali people are divided among themselves by getting along with the people of their race. ya i do have friends of other caste and i have no problem what so ever. and yes riten people do what they wanna do. but ever wondered how the nepali society gonna be if we do whatever do wanna do. I don't wanna feel uncomfortable to be with my friends of other caste, and i have a feeling that if we promote these kinda programs or parities which kinda promote racism, then it will further divide the nepalese here in us, which is definately not a good thing.
