I-140 approved but visa bulletin says current filing is for Aug 2002. What does it mean. Lawyer saying I should watch for that date. C'mon I can't be waiting for 5 years just watching that date. How often does it change. Can't I just go ahead and file for I-485 and travel document. What about work permit, don't I have to apply for that. My lawyer is ahole. Please suggest guys.

I am not sure what is your Priority Date is. May 2007 Visa Bulletin for EB3 catagory has moved a year ahead. This is very good indication for few people who are in pipeline waiting to get their PD becomes current so that they can file I-485, I-765, I-131 together. Let me know if I can further help you. email me @

Superior, my I-140 was approved in 7 months. Laborperm, my priority date is May 30 2006. Current date in visa bulletin is like you said increased by one whole year, which is indeed a good sign. How long did it take for it to change? Do you know? This means I have to wait before I can apply for all green card, work permit and travel document. What is I-765, I-131, Is it work permit and travel document. What should I do until then. Can I start working on a paycheck. Please suggest and thanks for your suggestions.

EB2 or EB3? For PD of May 06: If, EB3 = wait for less then 3 yrs before applying GC, worpermit, AP etc.as of May bulletin. If, EB2 = you can apply now. 1. If you are on H1, just keep working for same company, location stated on your PERM and same job position. 2. If its for future employment, nope you cannot work until you get EAD or apply for H1B. www.immigration.com or www.murthy.com etc.. will educate you in-detail.
