Hello! If anyone has got his/her GC through the EB2/PERM process lately or are in the process of doing so, can you share your experience, specially the time frame and the probabbility that one would get GC within a year if one starts the process now. Murthy.com site and other immigration sites shows that there is no waiting for AOS (Adjustment of Status), the last stage (I-485) since there is enough quota for this process for Nepal at present. However, the situation might be different few months down the lane. If your employer says he will sponsor your GC through his company saying that there is high probability that you would get the GC within a year, do you think it is a good proposal to accept at this time. Any thoughts/ comments and expert opinion/advice will be highly appreciated

yes, one can get GC within a yr from start to finish under EB2 category. My case started around July and got GC a week ago (May). I recieved an RFE which delayed almost a month. It also depends on where your application is processed. Until now the priority date is current for Nepal under EB2.

Yes. I got mine in about 11 months under EB-2. There is no backlog. If you have Master's degree and your company is willing to sponser, there is no reason to wait.

Saan_dai, I didn't have to go for interview. It is very less likely that you will be called for an interview unless there is any complication in your application or the adjundicating officer suspects you of potential fraud in you application. Beside that, you may also be called for interview if your application is randomly selected for interview for Quality Control (QC) purpose. Unless you have done anything wrong, there is nothing to worry about even if you are called for interview. They will just try to verify your information that is included in your application. And yes they want to make sure that you don't look like a terrorist (just kidding).

thyangboche, you need to ask the lawyer, and if he can show that this is can be filed under EB2. I did the same job, and the minimum pay was much higher because of the minimum requirement of Masters Degree. The process can take any where between 6-18 months, usually most being completed within 11 months. I think it takes more time to get things ready for PERM rather than the process. Some of my friend's had to wait longer for PERM and I 140 approval, but others were much faster. Best of luck for your GC process.
