This is just an effort. Let me know what you think and i will continue..
It was a wedding ceremony when Adhiti and Raj were first introduced. Adhiti’s sister and Raj’s sister were very good friends. The infrequent visit of Adhiti along with her sister Shimali to Raj’s place and vice versa started to expand a fade connection between those two teenagers. Adhiti was 16 and Raj was 17 then.
Raj was curious to know more about Adhiti. They used to talk but just Hi/Hello and sometimes the conversation may reach up to “K hudaicha Ajkal? But Raj was interested in knowing more. May be it was the age and also her beauty that made him feel he had a crush on her. Adhiti was popular among guys by her fresh and charming personality. Adhiti was in grade ten and it was two weeks before the board exam when Raj initiated to call Adhiti.
Raj: “Hey Adhiti, it’s me.†“How’s your preparation going?â€
Adhiti: “Oh Raj, How r u.†My preparation, “tehi ta ho ni†I don like to sit and read and read for long hours. So I take a break every now and then and if I get bored, I just make an excuse of “combined study†and go to Shilu’s place.â€
Raj: “If you get bored again, may be we can hang out or sth. What do u say??â€
Adhiti: “Oh yea we can do that may be tomorrow when I take a break.â€
Adhiti was a smart child, she did not have to memorise stuffs or practice hard. She had an inborn talent and memory. She wanted to get out of books and liked to freshen up before exams.
The next day they met at the Nanglo restaurant at Durbar marg. Adhiti took a taxi to Durbar marg. When she got out, she saw Raj standing and waiting. Adhiti, for the first time, observed him closely. She found a very handsome, tall teenager with some kind of naughtiness in his smile. Adhiti was looking pretty as usual.
Raj was a fun loving guy. Very funny in fact, and would not hesitate to say anything that would come to his thought. That was the reason that people would think that he was bluffing all the time. Well most of the time he would be.
Raj: “Here u areâ€. I have been waiting since agesâ€
Adhiti: “Yea right. Ani k cha??â€
Raj: “K hunu I am hungry. I was happy when u called yesterday and told me that you r interested in having a lunch with me and paying the bill as well.â€
Adhiti: “what r u talking about? I think that every single word that you just said was actually said by u over the phone.†(She knew he was joking)
………..This is all how it started a friendship between them.
They started talking over the phone, at least 2-3 times in a day. They would talk regular and funny stuffs. It wasn’t heading anywhere but they were having a really good time. Their sisters would even talk about them sometimes. Their friends would tease them as a couple. Raj used to say “Oh yea we are. Well I am trying so hard. Its Adhiti jo malai baalai didainaâ€. Adhiti just used to smile and would think he was kidding’ as usual.
Times passed by. Raj got an admission in India for his plus two and adhiti was waiting for SLC result. When he got his admission letter, he first called Adhiti and told her he was leaving. Adhiti was happy for him and after she hung up, she realized that something was bothering her. She was restless. She couldn’t sleep properly that night and she knew a little what was going on but was hesitating to acknowledge. They met in a party the next day, which was Raj’s party for all his friends. The next day he was leaving.
(Next day)Phone rings. Adhiti picks up. “Hey it’s me Rajâ€. I am at the airport. Are u gonna miss me?
Adhiti- “Of course notâ€. “I am happy that someone bothering me all the time is leaving. I can have a peace of mind now.†She knew that wasn’t true at all.
Raj- “ Oh well herula.†“Hey why don you write me a letter. It will be fun to read.â€
Adhiti- “Yea I will but only when I get one from you.â€
After Raj left, finally Adhiti realized that she was falling for Raj but was scared to tell him because she felt that he was always joking about his and adhiti’s relationship. “Raj is a really nice person and I might loose him now if I just tell him how I feelâ€. That’s how adhiti felt.
