If you don't know please do not mislead people. There are not many Nepalese in the Austin area. There are probably between 150-200 Nepalese. There are very few students. Northlake community college is not in Austin.
Most of the people here are well settled families. Most Nepalese own houses and have respectable jobs. Most students here are doing their Masters. I have been in Austin for some time now and I have yet to see a Nepali working in a gas station. Not that there is wrong with working in a gas station to pay your way through college.

fewatal, if you are looking for Nepalese to share a room with, there are very few Nepalese that are not already settled. Your best bet would be contacting the Nepalese at UT Austin, but since most of them live close to UT, you would have to fight through traffic to get to work if you lived with them. However, if it doesn't matter what country your roommate is from I would suggest austin.craigslist.org

Your Work place is about 30 miles from the downtown.
so you will be required to have a car unless you live 5 minutes from the workplace.

Well...there is no public transportation except Taxis.
so you might have to work it with taxi.

Also might be a good back up idea, if you can, start looking for some motels close by.

the first day on the job.....ask coworkers about where they live and if you can share apartment with them....

fewatal, there aren't too many apartment complexes in that area. The closest one is about 2 miles from your workplace. The name of the apartment complex is Gables Grandview, 6500 Champion Grandview Way, Austin, TX.

It is very hard to get around the austin area without a car. There is limited bus servie but I don't think it operates in the FM 2222 area.

I still think that the best option for you is to search for a roommate of craigslist.

Silly girl and xcopsgen , could you do me a favor...could you give me the address or name or contact of any hotels/motels near my work place ...so that i can walk up to my work place. I appreciate your help! Also the close by apartments to my work place or some nepali people around my work place. I badly needed help at this point.

I am not sure how far he is from you but he works at AMD - 5113 Southwest Parkway, Suite 300, Austin, Texas 78735 . He is looking to buy a Car also, if you guys know any cheap dealers, let us know.
You can talk to him and find out whats up.

Hello fewatal, the closest hotels to your workplace would be the ones on Arboretum Blvd., which is about 4 miles away from your workplace. I think you best bet at this time would be a taxi to and from on the first day and then find a co worker who can give you a ride. People in Austin are generally friendly so you should have no problem hitching a ride with a coworker. Like I said earlier, the closest apartments are gables grandview apartments and walden oaks apartments. You should be able to google information of both these apartments.

Sorry about the delay. I am glad that other Austinians are trying to help you. I go to UT Austin and as I know, your work place seems to be about 10 miles away from UT. It would be a rough commute if you happen to stay around campus. Moreover, apartments around campus are ridiculously expensive. As sillygirl pointed out, your best bet might be to stay in a motel the very first day and consult with your coworkers about other options. A lot of times, it's easier to find a roommate at your workplace. It would also be an easy commute to your work.
Beltran, I think AMD your nephew works is in South Austin and if I amn't mistaken and thats even farther away from Fewatal's workplace.
sillygirl, xcopsgen, nice to know that you guys are in Austin, as well. Where in Austin do you guys stay? We play soccer every Saturday morning in Zilker if you guys want to join.
