St. Joseph is one of the prominent. You might want to check the very well-known Doon. Then you have easy accessible Cambrian hall, fav for nepali.

Welham boy's school is also one of the gud school in Dun. Many indian actor actress were former student of dis school. check it out.http://www.wobs.in/

Are you looking for CBSE or ICSE board? there are lots of schools in dehradun and mussoorie which is an hour drive from dehradun.

dehradun is just another home for me after KTM was in the bording school from the age of 7 for 8 long years.
i would like to reccomend Saint Joseph Academy Dehra Dun, this is a good school as far as the education is concerned its economical as well.but there is a problem it is not a boarding school so u would have to find a private hostle or stay as a PG. else u have the option for lots more, dehradun ma ta har ek road ma school cha.
Doon is good but expensive,wehlam boys is another good school, col brown is good too but they do not have +2, pestleweed college is good too, Aryan school is wanderful it is opend by the teachers od doon school so this could be the good one, oh my god how could i forget RIMC wanderful guys there products are too good but i dont think you will get admission there they usually take army's kid. RRMA is another one but heard its very strict.
these are the schools in dehradun that i would like o recommend but there are lots more but check out these schools mainly.
you could also consider sending your brother to mousserrie there are good schools there too.
