Does any one know how long will it take for getting H1B approved in a non-profit company? Do we have to apply in a fix time (like April 1st for for-profit company) or can we apply anytime we get a job in a non-profit company? Also how long is the processing time for the non-profit H1B application? Your valuable suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The employer can apply for an H1B at their discretion so you do not have to worry about the quota if they are willing to sponsor you. If you file under premium processing, you should get a decision in two weeks. Under regular application, it could take upto 90 days. Have your company apply under premium processing so you do not have a wait time. Goodluck.

I know it is $1000 for premium processing, not sure of the $$ for other fees. Just google it... I think it costs a total of $1500-$2000.

$320 fee plus $500 fraud fee and if you want premium processing it's $1000. So, $820 or $1820.

Any one has any idea about whether the minimum income requirement is applied for a H1B job in non-profit sector (I mean University)?
I don't have OPT and got a job offer from my university but they don't pay enough. I need some information on the above concern. Help me please
Thanks

my understanding is, you dont need to meet minimum wage requirement in university jobs. otherwise post doc would not get H1bs, they get lot less for phd standard.

That is not true. Your pay must meet the prevailing wage and the state must certify that you are making no less than prevailing wage. There are special circumstances where the state can allow it but it has to be approved.
