This is for laptop has xp os. It has some bad sector and trying to partition and hoping may not need new hard drive.

Partitioning is kind in-built in windows XP. You can goto Computer Management in Windows XP and make partition of any size visually. Link to computer management can be found under Control Panel/Administrative tools.
To make partition in existing harddisk, you need to remove the existing partition.
OR you can use partition magic "happy days" suggested.
Hope this works.
