 Can Nepal Wireless win Access to Learning Award?

I have already forwared this information to the Wireless Nepal. How many of you guys think Nepal Wireless deserves this award? If nepal Wireless to win this award it will help them to get their next promising TeleMedicine project. Please forward to other Nepal Organization who you think deserves this award.

 Access to Learning Award Application Form

The Access to Learning Award honors innovative organizations that are opening a world of online information to people in need.

The foundation's Global Libraries initiative invites applications from libraries and similar organizations outside the United States that have created new ways to offer these key services:

  • Free public access to computers and the Internet

  • Public training to assist users in accessing online information that can help improve their lives

  • Technology training for library staff

  • Outreach to underserved communities

The award recipient will receive $1 million.

How to Apply
Applications must be submitted to the foundation via email by December 31, 2007.

Please note: The application form is available only in English and must be completed in English to be eligible for consideration.

Here’s how to apply:

  1. Download the electronic 2008 ATLA application form.

  2. Confirm your organization's eligibility.
    Please read carefully all the information on page 2 of the form.

  3. Complete the application in English.
    Follow the instructions provided, and type directly into the form.

  4. Submit your completed application form via email to: ATLA@gatesfoundation.org.

Useful Information for Applicants

Eligibility
The 2008 application form includes a detailed description of eligibility requirements. Please note:

  • Applications are open to institutions outside the United States that are working with disadvantaged communities.

  • To be eligible, the applying institution must allow all members of the public to use computers and the Internet free of charge in a community space.

Timeline 

  • Submissions accepted: July 1 to December 31, 2007.

  • Decision: An award administrator will notify the award recipient and all other applicants of their status by July 2008.

  • Announcement: We will publicly announce the award recipient in August 2008.
