Hey guys i installed windows 2003 server enterprise edition yesterday and installed all the drivers. Its Hp media center pc. But i have problem accessing my external hard drive which runs through USB cable. you can see the drive detecting but you cant access it. You can safely unplug/plug it and see it on device manager under disk drive but you cant see on my computer. I tried to uninstall USB drivers and install it again but nothing worked. if any of you guys have this operating system please help me out. Just to let you know that, the same hard drive runs on my another computer. there is no problem with the hard drive.

anyways..
here is a solution that worked for me....

1. Right Click on ur My Computer > to go Manage
2. Go to "disk management".. ( i think u were already here....)
3. then from the list.. i assume that ur external drive will be there...
4. right click on it, "Change Drive letter and Path",
5. select some drive name .. like "T" or "I" click OK (it will prompt u that u may loose data etc, u can ignore that)

now go to my computer .. and the drive should be listed there

but on step 4, instead of change drive letter, click on, Assign Drive Letter and give it a letter name like f or g
it will work.
