Hello abc.....,Lasik is not a complex procedure. As you might also know, Lasik is just a laser processto correct your eye sight. A beam of laser will bring your focal point into the right point making your vision 20/20. I have seen people doing lasik go office the next day. After the lasik is done, you have to use some solution (which you'll be prescribed) certain times a day for a week and then you're good to go without any side effects and with a good vision. Good Luck!

Abc....First of all, it is not a surgery, so, please don't think it as a surgery. The Optometrist will only use a beam of laser light to correct your vision. It is not like a regularsurgery where they give you anesthesia, make you unconsious, and then disect your body.No cutting of any part of your eye is done. Like I said, only laser is used, and that iswhy it is so risk free. Regarding your professional background, you can consult your optometrist. I am not sureif you can stay focued at computers, TV's, for a long time immediately after the lasik procedure. So, please consult them on this. Hope this helps. Good Luck.Â

m sorry to say but this LASIK ( Laser-in-situ-Keratomileusis) is not totally riskfree. This therapy is only possible if the weakness of eye lies between -10D and +3D. Presbyopes can not be treated. By this surgery, local anaesthia is required and in case of nervousness some tranquilizers can also be taken.to correct ur the eye defect, the outermost layer of cornea is cut and folded.this is done with a very fine OP knife microtome or femtosecond laser(femto LASIK).And then LASER is used. Possible Complications: *pain and burning of eye along with excessive tears take place often after the OP.Dryness of eye is also possible. *Due to open cornea, infection as well as ulcers can develop. *small folds of cornea can evolve while folding the outer layer which may cause vision problems. *opacity of cornea is possible. *in case of weakness of corneal tissues by birht,it can cause to bulging of cornea which has to be treated with cornea transplantion.in most of such cases, it can cause to worse vision and even to blindness. These are some of the side effects which MAY be caused.i may have forgotten others as well.its better to consult ur eye surgeon.but still there are many successful cases.if u r unlucky it may go wrong but the process itself is not bad at all.on the first day after OP, u'll start noticing the progress.statistically seen, 90% of the cases are successful and in other 5-10% it may worsen ur vision rather than upgrading. It's better if u r above 25 years as growth comes to a halt at the age of around 25. Good luck! ASTU!

I have had Lasik and it's been 2 years. It was expensive, but it was worth it for me.I had one eye corrected at one time and the other three weeks later.I had no pain at all.. The only discomfort was the dryness that you may get after the surgery, but they give you drops for that.. The only annoying thing is the drops, I still use drops once a day for dry eye. I’m going to run through my experience of recovery times for computer. Obviously these are just a guide as they will vary from person to person based on type of surgery and many other things.I wasn’t really comfortable useing computer for longer than about half hour or one until two weeks after the operation. My eyes would feel tired, my vision would feel a little unstable – blurring until I blinked etc. But after that two weeks I could go for hours and besides blinking lots and needing the drops once a day if at work it’s not really been a problem. chosen a surgeon that you trust and can spare some time off work to allow your eyes to heal.
